The Elegance at Hershey crowns the Mormon Meteor

urth time was the charm for The Elegance At Hershey.

The shaky weather that plagued the event every year stayed away this time. This year, show-day weather was as spectacular as the cars arrayed in the formal gardens behind the historic Hotel Hershey.

The very select field of cars, just over 6o in total, covered the gamut from a 1901 Oldsmobile “French Front” Light Tonneau to a 1970 Plymouth Hemicuda race car. An impressive selection of one-of-a-kind or few-of-a-kind cars, such as the 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II convertible by Hess & Eisenhardt, the 1947 Delahaye 135M roadster by Figoni et Falaschi and the 1931 Minerva AL convertible sedan by Rollston, were more than enough to satisfy the most jaded of concours attendees.

That would be rather good to take to vintage race meet!
Worked on very cool cigar bodied Phantom I during my apprenticeship 20 got long with flying wrong guards and the torque of tank!
Loved driving that around town.

I think this may be it... The under guards were painted red 40 odds years ago when it was in Australia.

Just realised the sissies have ear muffs on! May be the 'country exhaust dump' may have the front muffler removed! It always scared the passangers on the 'toaster' trams flying past loadly :)
I did learn that my work boots got jambed with the centre accel pedal flat out up Punt Road Hill and having to scramble to kill the mags and igns while struggling to get my foot out hahah maybe that's why I had early grey hair!

It had so much torque start at bridge in second, skip shift to top and by then it was edging in front of the  then modern cars on the way to the top.
