Three cheers for high mounted UNSPRUNG wings.

Might have to explain the unsprung statement  :o

Better to watch Phil and Bacchulum, they the ones who tutor us how to drive properly :)

I suspect the Mclaren is also a bit easier and quicker than the Lotus around Bridgehampton.

I didn't enjoy failing to manage that much at all. No practice, default setup and incorrect tyre pressures probably didn't help much.

The car does seem extra-ordinary sensitive to tire pressures. I thought i heard somewhere that 28 was the target hot pressure so tried to set the car up for that. No matter what lines I drove, what camber or damper settings were used I could not average better than 1:44 to 1:43.

Then just before quali I had a look at Kunos's tire app which suggested 38 as the target pressure. Adjusting pressures brought me immediately into the 1:39's

For the race, I had a fun time. Some arguments with Phil, a wall and the fuel calculator lead to a solid 3rd place finish  :)  (BTW The wall won the argument)

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Tuesday fun run
« on: September 04, 2017, 02:53:08 PM »
I hate myself for saying this, but should we consider damage off for Tuesday? Fun run nights are usually reduced numbers anyway, and with it being so easy to wreck the car here it would be a shame to loose anyone who does turn up due to a crash.

I want to ask if you too scared to take on the mountain with 100% damage but since I cannot do 3 laps without destroying my car I'll keep quit  ;D

No, no, Mael.
It won't suck.
It'll be more restricted, so it'll suck less. 8)

I disagree. A restriction of the air intake intake means the engine must create a higher vacuum within the intake manifold compared to an unrestricted engine to suck in the same volume of air. Thus it sucks more  ;D

696
I almost feels sorry for you Phil, 100% restrictor is going to suck  :P

Assetto Corsa / Re: PCars 2

My story behind PCars 1 and AC is interesting. I've always loved a good, solid career mode and PCars was the closest thing I'd had to a Gran Turismo or Forza of any kind (don't flame me... i didn't know any better at the time).

Never quite got that myself, isn't the point of racing to compete against other humans? But that is just my humble opinion  ;D

Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Fun Run 31-08-2017

Might have to do some sprint races with the Fiat next time, after the "accidental" contact with Phil my race was a bit lonely.  Still shocked that he ended up in the wall after such small contact.

Actually joined a server running this track over the weekend, nearly killed my poor PC   ;D  Good track but needs a bit of optimization.

Are we using the slick or road tyres tonight?

Road for Bacchulum, slicks for everyone else.

Well that was a disaster. In race 2 had a run in with a wall on lap 3. It caused a shattered window which combined with the setting sun made finding brake markers rather difficult at some corners. Further accidents followed, one Doobs which was all my fault. Sorry Doobs I just could not stop the car from drifting wide. At least I ticked off my first 360 roll in a race, landed neatly on my wheels even so no forced pit stop  ;D

Suspect Freezer did not have a good one either, but team Maki Engineering will be back!

Pleased to hear the track was as I hoped it would be, I was disappointed to have missed this round.

Bruce XGN

It certainly was a challenge Bruce, good choice.

Final round and a 3 way battle for glory between Bacchulum, Seanus or Mael , which one of these might gladiators will have the raisins come race day  ??? Stay tuned as all will be revealed next Thursday

Just an idea but maybe drop the handicapping for this last round and let the 3 battle it out?

That could also be worded 'Let Bacculum win'  ;D His pace without handicapping is silly fast

Noooo!  I'm very happy for the handicap to stay, Bacchulum will destroy us without it.
