I'm still annoyed about AC not looking like it will ever get proper racing rules, get rid of the AI driving or stopping you from driving the car at certain points or proper pit stops. One of the Kunos developers is over at Racedepartment basically slapping down anyone that wants these things implemented saying that it's not important. If you call it "your racing simulator", we should be able to simulate some races!
I got Automobilista the other day and was impressed to be able to put it into first gear on the grid and wait for the flag to drop.  Haven't seen that for a while in AC....

Just tried the Formula Retro . . . looks like a F5000 but with a 3 litre V8.   Good Fun.
And you have to try the Stadium Super Trucks.  Use bonnet cam because its hard to see over the dash when the front
wheel is cocked up in the air, but they are excellent.

Well I just installed Automobilista and am suitably impressed.  Its not the prettiest sim out there but the feel of the few cars I have tried so far is really good.  Slip streaming and drifting a formula vee through the pack was excellent.  The closed top le mans style cars are also pretty impressive.  I got it free as an GSC owner but certainly worth splashing some cash out there.  Plenty of tracks included and a lot of cars albiet slightly open wheeler focused.

Good nights racing.  I got a decent start at the first attempt and grabbed a spot of two however on the second restart I was spun around at T1 and found myself facing backward and last.
From their I had a hard fought battle with a BMW (cant remember name) but unfortunately on two occassions he decided to move across on me when I got a run alongside.  The first hit we survived, the second occurrence saw him spin and I pushed on.
Pushed hard trying to make up time and pitted for tyres at lap 17.  After that had a battle with Bird, although he was a touch quicker and eventually got past.  I did have 10 sec penalty mainly from putting a wheel over the median strip on exiting T3 a couple of times but in the end I think I finished around 5th or so.

Ah, now you feel my pain of days gone!  Seriously, just swap the clutch and throttle over.  Get some pointy nose pliers and you're good to go!

Good to see you didn't rage quite Marty.  It takes some fortitude to hang in there after both a throttle issue and being tapped off.

I did have a look at the pedals in the control setup and seems that both the throttle and clutch are spiking, I had a deadzone that should have covered the throttle spike range but clutch was spiking at random so this would be more like a random clutch slip and so not sure if changing clutch to throttle will fix my issues.

I tend to mostly drive H-pattern cars outside of the league stuff and so probably use clutch more then I do the brake, I will give the pots a clean and ensure enough deadzone is on both pedals. This kind of explains why I was losing speed but it didnt really seem like throttle spiking as probably most of it was clutch related.

I grabbed a similar g27 when my old g25 was spiking like yours.  best money I've spent.

Oh, Freezer, you realise that your overtake was essentially illegal between T1 and T2 in Race 1? You are supposed to keep to your side of the track :D

Well done, nonetheless!  You had great pace early on.
I started on the left, passed you on the left and passed Grat on the left . . . :)

Freezer, "I changed both roll bars one click each direction". What does that mean? One click each direction means you didn't change them ;)
I mean I softened the front and stiffened the rear.

Race Report.
Not my greatest qualifying but managed 8th.
R1:  Got a good jump and snuck around the outside of Bird at T1, then got the left side run on Grat down to Eau Rouge.  Managed to get by Jeremy but then after the pits I came out behind Bird who had pitted a lap earlier.  For some reason I was slow in the second half of this race with both Marty and Grat getting passed on the Kemmel Straight but after that managed to hang on for 8th.
R2:  I changed both roll bars one click each direction prior to the race and this helped a lot as the I was able to really get on the power through the corners and the speed showed, taking 2 sec on my r1 best.
The start was clean, then I was able to get a great pass on Grat around the outside at Blanchimont (thanks to Grat, we kept it clean).  From their I followed the synchronised Lambo's of Paul and Marty.  Every time I got a run on them up Kemmel they were spread across the track and I had no where to go.  With Paul giving marty a little tap later on I was able to get passed him and then they both pitted.
I again ran one lap longer and this time came out behind Paul again. But after many laps of pushing I managed to get him into T1.
From there it was the run home with Stan right behind.  I was intent on keeping him there so pushed hard and managed to hold on for 5th.

All up a great nights racing.

Grat, it's a given that two computers time-separated will see a different reality. :)  That's why a really good netcode is really important in these games.

I can report a very happy evening for myself, the two 4th positions were better than I dared to hope for. 

Quali did not go too well, I've lost 3 laps due to cuts, the only remaining wasn't the hottest (it was a second slower than my fastest race lap in R1!)
but it was enough for a 7th position start.

R1 I had some great battles & close & clean racing. 

R2 I was interestingly very fast early on (comparatively speaking) and managed to stick to the top guys, however, after the pit I met Simone and in that little tangle I've lost enough that I was nowhere near anymore.  And with that it seems my concentration has gone out the window as well.    Plus I think the Nissan was actually quite good in slippery conditions here - not *that* good when the grip went up.   

Still, 4th is very good in this strong field :)

You had very good speed in the Nissan, a couple of seconds on the rest of us. I ended up using a little more TC to make the car more predictable powering out of corners - about 2/12.

I was also finding a bit of a bog down between 1st and second gears, coming out of the final bus stop corner.
I lowered 2nd to 6th down a bit in the gearing and used full traction control.  Gets off the line well with full throttle.

I want to do a NORMAL STANDING START tonight and just have fun.
I think we should just let Race Control "Wally" set and administer the rules whilst the competitors "Us" just drive the cars....

I would agree with the 'Attitude' comments Wally.  I have had some of my best races coming back from a spin.  You are bound to get hit at some point, you just have to suck it up.
I don't like the rolling starts due to the penalising aspect.  There is little between these cars as it is so the extra gap gained just makes it harder.
I do agree with the penalty along the lines of causing an incident on T1 - 3 sees you start from the back in the next race.  In addition I think the redress rule has gone missing in that if you push someone off, you must wait for them to recover before resuming.

On the whole most of these early incidents have risen from relatively minor mistakes, but resulted in big consequences.  AC has played a role in that.

My front right after 12 laps on it got to 38% grained last race and front left was at 32% with pretty much no front end grip left the last couple laps.
How do you achieve so much graining Marty, mine finished on 10%.
