Yeah, the sounds in rF2 are the best I've heard - grunty and dirty. These cars are fun - it's a terrifying experience throwing them around Spa67 at over 300 kmh.

I really have a man-crush on old Can-Am's and F5000's at the moment, the first thing on the lotto-list. :P

With the latest update to rFactor 2 they've made multiplayer free, so no more annual fee, plus it's currently 50% off on Steam for $15. Think it could be time to pick it up.

Could be good to do some Endurance races with weather and night time and stuff. I really like rF2's scripted weather system.

I'd be in that. I love enduros with weather and day/night.

I found the total opposite (pre-update, haven't tried it since)
I drove the Can-Am and couldn't work out why the gears were too short sometimes but OK at others.
Eventually reallized I was getting wheelspin, but I felt no 'looseness' or sideways motion at all. ???
I could go through all the gears, 'smoking it', and it wouldn't show a sign of getting out of line. :o
Love the weather and night, but hate the feel. >:(

You can even set the server up for REALTIME weather - https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/rfactor2-weather-tool.37366/

I just moved my rF2 to Steam after getting an email about it, so I thought I'd give it a go. The FFB feels pretty good - I was able to slide the Skip Barber around nicely and predictably. The graphics are a joke, in this day and age. Really. No 5.1 sound. I'm giving it a pretty big thumbs down.

I've re-funded my rf2 a while ago, yet I got the same mail.  So out of curiosity I've tried, and I could activate it on steam.  Interesting.

Yep, activated, installed, played. I don't know if online works though - I didn't try.
