Assetto Corsa / Re: AC V1.0.1 (with Ruf Yellowbird) Released
« on: December 26, 2014, 09:00:18 AM »
I was in masochist mode: H-shifter and clutch, 90's street tyres, default boost. I was babying the car around, and if I proffered more than a queef to the throttle, the rear would come around. I know it's my own shortcomings and not the car's. It's not a car I would choose to drive for fun.

I'll try semislicks and 10% boost... i.e. granny mode.

I mean cars that were actually designed to not have the rear of the car trying to overtake the front at every opportunity.

Not an easy car to drive, again (on street tyres, at least). Honestly... were all cars of this era such crap to drive? Or were men just men back then?

I know I will probably regret this, but count me in please Wally.

Sandbagging already...

In response to the aforementioned season,  I hereby extend to you my application to be considered in order that my entry be accepted.
After consulting a lawyer, I decided to sign you up anyway.

8992
Thanks guys. Have a good Christmas.

8993
Yes please! :)

That was quick. The ink isn't even dry yet!

I know there are regulars - but I didn't want to pre-sign anyone up.

I also stuck with the 3 sprint format, rather than mixing up race lengths, as I'm anticipating some spread out fields, and more race starts gives us more opportunities to re-bunch the field.

Server Settings
  • Damage: 60%
  • Tyre wear: 100%
  • Fuel multiplier: 100%
Points
  • Individual driver points are in accordance with the V8 Supercars points system:
    Short format   75   69   64   60   55   51   48   45   42   39   36   34   33   31   30   28   27   25   24   22   21   19   18   16   15 (double points for long races)

  • Team points are the accumulation of the individual team member's points. If a reserve stands in for an absent team member, they score points for the team.
  • Each driver's worst round is dropped, and the worst team round is also dropped.
  • Fastest lap bonus: 1 point awarded at the end of each race for the driver who sets the fastest lap time.
Penalties
  • If a driver hits someone carelessly in turns 1 or 2 at the start of a race and it pushes them off the track or spins them, they get a 8 point penalty, and the driver hit will get a 8 point bonus. You still have to redress any gained positions.
  • If a driver gets two turn 1 or 2 penalties in a season, they will have to skip the first qualifying session of the next round and start the race from the back of the grid.
  • No other penalties will apply. The usual respect for other drivers and redressing unfairly gained positions will be expected as always.
Rules
  • Track Limits. The Pit Lane Penalty app is mandatory. Any drive through penalties issued must be taken within 3 laps. Details of the app are here: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/a-pit-lane-penalty-app-for-repeated-track-cutting-0-8a.17852/
  • Redress. If you gain position advantage over another driver by colliding with them such that their car leaves the track, or by cutting the track yourself, you are expected to redress your position as soon as safely possible. Gaining position by "reasonable" side-by-side contact is allowed, but rear collisions must be avoided. This won't be enforced. It is an honour system.
  • Track Re-entry. You must always re-enter the track with extreme caution. Any collision on re-entry must be redressed.
  • Assists. Driving assists like ABS and TC can be used only if available on the car. There is no forced driving view.
  • Map and Mirrors. To assist in knowing where other cars are around you and on track (especially for leaving pits and re-entering the track after a spin), it is recommended to use the virtual mirror (F11) and turn on the track map which shows the nearby cars.
  • Tyres. There are no restrictions on tyre choice.
Server Details

Driver Sign Up
Reply in this thread to sign up for the season. Numbers are limited to 24 (limited by pit boxes). Extra drivers go on the reserve list, to be called up into a race if a position becomes available.
If a driver doesn't show up on race night without notification, they get a * on the entry list. If they get two *'s, they will be demoted to the reserve list, so someone else can get a race.

Thanks bird for reminding me about speed profiles, have lowered mine, But I do think its AC , I have never had a random boot from Iracing or guild wars or TF2 or css or any other game I have spent 100s of hours on with no issue. also my router(netgear D6300) says  its had no lost packets up or down and no collisions in the last 48 hours

Have you seen this?

Can I be put on the list if it's not already full please?  ;D

I'll put a sign up thread up soon!

Race 1 was brilliant, in a bumper to bumper Flattop, Vipergod, Wally, Gratulin train until Flattop had an off, Vipergod and I got passed, I passed Vipergod into the ”wiggly bits” but had to brake with the narrowing corners. That was probably my fault, eyes lit up at the passing opportunity, but then had to brake too soon.

Race 2 I made too many mistakes. I think I needed a little more rear downforce in hindsight. I lost the tear a couple of times, and a couple of times the kerbs spat me off the track. I had some fun chasing RPM in the dying stages, but his Beemer was ultimately too much for me and he pulled away.

I think the handicapping worked well, looking at the lap times which are fairly nicely bunched up.

Thanks to everyone who participated and made it a great racing community.
