55", now we're talking...what monitor is that?  I might just upgrade.  43" is getting small :)

Edit: wait, that's probaly  a telly, not a monitor, correct?  I mean having "netflix" and youtube" in the spec is bad, very bad.  Also the 10bit ... what's that? colour depth?  It's a bit backwards for colour representation, no?

You are right it is a TV, I was just wondering what the refresh rate of OLED panels was compared to LCDs. I only recently bought a LG 55 4k 200hz  TV to use as my monitor ( very happy with it overall) photo realistic graphics ,but I notice a bit of blur on occasion  :(  an OLED panel would stop that  :) :)

You'd have a seizure sitting in front of my 22" monitors Bird. ;D
You might need a magnifying glass to see them.

After the discussion last night I thought I would post the pics of my view. My actual wheel sits where it would IRL in relation to the dash.

Well, there's a reason  monitors and are sold separately, and not just marketing - altho this may change in the future.
Apparently TVs have lower requirements on the picture representation side.  Side effects maybe ghosting, blurring, worse colour representation, cropping, etc...

I'd not use a telly as a monitor until this changes - but then I work at the computer all day.

Trying to figure out what size monitor to look at for desktop sim racing.  Is 55 too big?  Is a big TV a decent alternative to triple monitors?

I used to use a 48" tv before I went to triples. It's okay provided there isnt much input lag but a tv is unlikely to have the same response rate as a monitor. Triples is a completely different experience though.

Heheh.  I use a 43" Philips and it's pretty darn big.  Imagine 2x24" in portrait side-by-side, that's about it plus a bit more width I think.

But it really depends on you desktop space and viewing distance, too; I'm about an arm's length away from the screen (and a handspan more).

However...what I'm missing a bit, is the horizontal viewing angle in racing.   So you might want one of those ultra-wide ones; I've just got one for my better half; a 34" ASUS ROG Swift Curved PG348Q and it's brilliant.  The width is there - the height is lacking a bit.   The viewing angles are fantastic, 100Hz refresh, and it has this nvidia syncing tech too.   Something like this in a bigger size...I'd buy a new one for myself :)

But I need the height for work, so I'll stick to my 43".

Oh, and it being 4k resolution, you really need to think about your video card as well.
While AC isn't too demanding on paper, it's not very well written I think.  I use a Zotac AMP Extreme 1080Ti and it's not wasted power.
