Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: May 23 Fun Run - Lotus 98T at Silverstone 67« on: May 23, 2017, 09:58:10 PM »I agree, Freezer. The 98T was more exciting to drive, but the Exos was more exciting to race. Playing with the boost did spice up the 98T a bit, but you don't really get enough time at 100% over a longer race to get too many opportunities to use it. The 100% boost works a treat if you stuck behind anyone, used it to get by Bachulum Can I vote for all the cars? 767

Ended up quite a strange race.
Qualified 7th, a bit further down the grid than expected since I thought the Lotus was pretty good around the track. The race itself was, after the initial laps battling Wally & Co, pretty boring. Unbeliev was too quick and for some reason there was no one behind me? I even had the time to do a 360 in the middle of the track with about 5 laps to go. A win was gifted to me by Unbeliev's fuel usage, thanks mate! Thanks Phil and everyone else who contributed to the season, it was fun. And any prizes for driving the most unpopular cars? I did manage to sort out the Lotus's braking problems. It seems the brake bias is somehow linked to the rear wing. If you run low wing settings the brake bias feels too far forward resulting in reduced braking performance, very poor turn in and no trail braking potential specially as tire wear increases. With max rear wing the car becomes a lot more stable and actually have very good braking performance with no brake "fade" as the tires wear. 768
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Classic Lotus Fun Run - May 16« on: May 16, 2017, 10:18:50 PM »The 49 was probably the better of the two cars - at least it was easier to brake in a straight line. I found the rear of the 49 was more liable to snap out on throttle than the slower 25 though. Yip found the 49 more enjoyable. Would be a lot easier on modern tracks without the many level changes. 769

Poor effort Gratulin.
The screen is not broken, all the wheels are still attached and pointing forward, the car is not upside down and there is no flames! 770

Apologies to Unbelief and AJ for the first race. Made a mistake overtaking Joe knocking Unbelief off the road and then while fuming over the stupid error I returned to the track without looking for oncoming traffic.
At least I got some comic relief from Phil's on-board footage during the rest of race 1, seemed someone kept on moving his brake markers 773
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Classic Lotus Fun Run - May 16« on: May 11, 2017, 02:26:30 PM »I was reading about pit stops in the 60's. It seems the drivers had to make quite a few unscheduled stops for mechanical issues. Reliability has certainly come a long way. It also seems that races were generally 2 hrs long, although that doesn't seem to have been a consistent rule. I would picture 1 hr races in the season with no conditions, 100% damage. At least aero damage has no effect 774
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Classic Lotus Fun Run - May 16« on: May 11, 2017, 10:52:18 AM »The bumps do make it interesting, and a bit of a challenge, but I actually really enjoy this track. Great atmosphere and sense of speed. More like keeping you on your roof. Did a few laps and the ones where I did not crash into Marty I found it very difficult to judge braking points. A few practice laps is definitely advised! 775
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Nords 2hr Enduro Results« on: May 10, 2017, 12:27:39 PM »I'd also make being on TS/discord a requirement of participation... the bandwidth overheads are so small these days there really isn't any excuse not to run it. Not for us guys on Mobile Internet, TS/Discord can overwhelm my system. Discord more so than Teamspeak from my experience. I really enjoyed the week long practice/qualifying, we should continue with the idea for future enduro's. 776
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Nords 2hr Enduro Results« on: May 10, 2017, 10:32:04 AM »when tyre blankets were off I had to up pressures by 1 all round and raise aero to 4. I decided to go with no changes for the lower temperatures but for some reason the car had no pace for the first few laps. I lost almost 10s to you on lap two, 5s on lap three before matching your laptimes Shameless. I pushed as hard as I could on the outlap and expected to sneak out just in front of you, was pleasantly surprised with the gap after your stop. Shayne had some damage which allowed me to make up a whole pitstop over the last 50 minutes, next time do a pitstop and repair the damage Shayne! 777

I thought constantly changing & obscure rules were part of the Thursday fun, sort of a challenge to hit a moving target
So I suggest for the next race we allowed to nominate the championship leader's tire choice as added "car equalization" measure! A slightly overweight girlfriend in Bacchulum's car would not go amiss either 780
