Just got lucky. Still hoping to get a shifter to make up some time on the gear changes though.
Thought I could use my old G27 one but I can't run that with the Fanatec wheel. 77

I really miss the Hello Kitty skins. Was it Dick Forest that used to do those up? They were a good laugh.

Good night of racing guys. Had a lot of fun.
Well done to KCender for the wins. I'd loved to have stuck around for the third race and tried another car but was getting a bit late. I learnt my lesson in the second race not to make too many setup adjustments to a car you haven't driven before! Was good fun trying to tame the beast though. Cheers. 79

When I was racing it was worth around 0.5 to 1 second a lap depending on the car. I got a fanatec wheel and pedals but can't bring myself to pay $300+ for a shifter. So paddles it is at the moment. Thinking of getting one of those 3d printed shifters from Spain. 81
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Fun run: GPL 67 at Watkins Glen (Boot Classic)« on: April 30, 2019, 02:23:43 PM »Wally, the Ferrari is the only car I worked out a setup for so I'd go for that one. I definitely don't associate myself with the faster guys so it depends what the regular race winners say, but my immediate thoughts would be that you'd be better off coming second than first. For me, it only singles out the winner, not the "faster drivers", that might even itself out over the course of the season. But I'm still trying to figure out the apps I need let alone the driving part! 82

Thanks ab. Great feedback. I never knew you could see a lot of the track from one location. This is what I liked about Sepang.

Amateur question - my PLP app displays in game as "disabled" does this mean I haven't clicked something I should have or is it making an inference about my driving?

What's the consensus on cars? Are they all pretty much the same? - ie out of control rocket ships!

I may be a fairly sporadic attendee though. Thanks. 86

Does anyone know where I can get these tracks and mods (thanks for the cars link Bird) anywhere OTHER than RaceDepartment?
Everything I D/L from there downloads at 20 kb/s or less, yet from everywhere else it's about 6Mbps. 87

You're never gonna get properly incremental handicaps. There are thresholds and cliffs where the disadvantage increases exponentially.
Is it worth trying on a practice night over a few races? |
