Yes just  a complete rebuild! I have a friend how is project managing it, Denise is the finance officer :)
My mates are doing the body work that needs tiding up and repainting it for me.  I'm just doing the hour here and there when I am feeling well, doing the mechanical.
It will be back to the old days, Glen Green exterior, dark green strip and wheels and Gully Green interior.  The engine has just been freshened, rings, bearings, hone and the camshaft and tappets were shot, so it should go better this time round,  I hadn't noticed the drop off in performance, probably because I am getting slower at punting it!

Great to see Bruce. Multiple rebuilds is often what produces the best cars.
I see too you have been out to my neck of the woods at Clive Cams. They did a new bump stick for my red motor after another manufacturers product lost the number 6 exhaust lobe. Haven't really used it in anger yet so don't really have any feedback on it. However it does surprise me how many people seem to go to this small manufacturer?

Thanks Phil, it will make me feel like a (near) teenager again.  Denise and I have had the old boy since 1972.

Nothing like a 6 cylinder, I never push it over 6k, (due to crankshafts break on these at 6100, and you have to get through that rev range fast or TEARS!)  I have not had the engine on a dyno, but it is ~130HP so, it is great to drive.  This time it getting a Weber!

Glad to see you have an infinity with Holden, didn't realise that connection or your close proximity.  We may have well walked passed each other at an event around our traps.  Clive worked for Wade and I believe purchased the rights to Wade Cam's profiles.  The Wade 140 that I have been running for years, is a stalwart for early 6 Holdens and many other makes.   The first time I was permitted to warm it up a little more, my wife said: "as long as it is smooth", and my answer was predictably, "yes, dear, smoooth, a granny could drive it around daily in the city".  ;D

I lost metal on all the lumpy and smooth bits, I think I may have used a low zinc/modern oil in it on a hard occasion! So new grind. I will keep the old cam to remind me to double check which oil I am using!
Great to see you at least one night in the last season, lets hope you have more time for Season 9.
And if we go to a local event, we need to post it here and possibly catch up.

A lot of things I gave away over the years, sold or traded, but I knew they were not making any more of these when I purchased 2 sets brand new, and still had this pair, new.
It will be fantastic and my wife and friends will deserve all the accolades.

Bingo. I think it was a combination of low zddp oil and heavy valve springs that killed mine too. Switched to Racing VR1 oil when i canged cam. Oh what a pain that was, engine tare down with about 600km done. Wanted to go roller cam but couldn't face full strip down to machine block for followers.

So you have followed Clive (presumably for many years) because of a particular Wade profile?

I should put my old cam next to the oil locker as well but I doubt I'll ever do that again...

Humper sorry missed this, what car we're you running?
And yes Clive took on Wade's profiles, but an easy choice, his workshop is pristine too.
They now produce roller rockers for the humpy, but excessive for my race asperations and skills.
Happy with my "apprentice period" hotty.

What's happening?
Still planning on Baskerville in late Sept. I hoping to be well enough to go and well enough to do the  regularity.
We have had a set back, I have moved from stage 4 to palliative.
My wife and mates are still pushing.to get the old car finished, we'll make it!
Oh I had to be first to sit on the new upholstery  ;D
