Fun night. I decided to go for 2 stops for fuel and tyres, so worked out the fuel for around 11.5 laps just in case I got damage.

Qualified 8th and a few laps in got a run on Jeremy and went down the inside into T1, locked up a little and took up a little more track than I intended, but that was the only pass I made the whole race. A few laps later he made a similar pass but maybe more a divebomb as he gave the place back? I did see him appear real quick on helicorsa so gave room.

Getting towards lap 20 Jeremy was right on my tail for a few laps then he pitted. I still have enough fuel for 4 laps and a decent gap infront so I stayed out for 3 laps to try and avoid the undercut. I wast tempted to just go for fuel second stop, but I hadn't tried a long run with the tyres and had visions of struggling my way to the end losing places, so I thought better of it.

After my second stop I came out into traffic and had 7 laps close racing for the first time of the night. I can't remember the order of how things happened but at one point Jeremy got on my tail but spun, I gave the inside of that damn first lesbo a love tap which I'd done a few times in practice which let Mael past me, then Phil got past after I messed up an exit. I think it was Russ who was infront of Phil who on lap 19 out-braked himself into T1 allowing Phil and I to get another place each.

Started in 8th, finished in 8th so not too shabby.

I set it back to 1 after  noticing some framerate drops into the low 50s but it still happened so wasnt this setting. Could never go back to 30fps console gaming  ;D

Was in the gym yesterday and a purple Lambo Diablo drove past. No pic unfortunately but first time I've seen one.

Hmmmm, i can't join the server. I've gone though the usual issues and none of them exist. I'll keep trying

Got the pit mod?

Looks like a new T300 bundle which includes the T3PA pedals is coming out:

Very nice. Is a shame the name labels dont fully work. I discovered I'm the white yelloe and black number 85 based on my t-bone accident at the top of the hill. A little later I passed humper (blue car) through the final chicane.

Driver names didn't seem to work for me either. pTracker did seem to how the correct race order though during the replay.

I thought you could just turn driver names on for replays?

Socks or no socks is usually fine for me, but the other night it was a bit warm and my sweaty feet were slipping off the pedals so I had to put socks on  ;D

I like the idea of the compulsory drive-throughs for the top few drivers, but if it's going to be a thing, maybe consider having it as the top 5 in the championship rather than the top 5 qualifiers, otherwise roughly the same people are getting "punished" every week and the guys who regularly qualify in 6th-8th or so are going to be in the best positions.

Also takes away some of the possibility of people sandbagging. Not that I would accuse anybody of that, but in my opinion it's still better to have it as a built-in thing rather than to rely on an "honour system" of sorts.

Just my 2c :)

I guess you joined Teamspeak late as that was the original plan and a few people decide qually times would be the better option. I think both options have their merits.

I always right foot and heel-toe is way beyond my current ability. Maybe I should give left a go some time.

1602
Having a bare foot on the brake means I get more grip to punch the pedal, where as the throttle I need to gently apply so I need something more slippery that glides over the pedal as I push down hence why I wear a sock on the right foot.

How many of you guys are left foot braking? Would it help in being quicker or just preference. I've always used right foot.

I simply pitted early because I wanted to be in traffic, which is more fun :)  But for sure, to keep the best track position, you'd want to pit after building up a gap.

I did guess that. Being in the top half of the group is still quite a new thing for me so I'm making the most of it  ;D

Race 1 was running in 2nd behind Bacculum after Wally and Phil made an early drive though. I thought it would be better to try and make a gap first rather than come through the field. Bacculum was pulling away and I was making a pretty good gap apart from Mael who wasn't far behind. Some random then joined the server and parked their car in the middle of the fast right hander at the bottom and hill and I had to pretty much stop to get around. This meant Mael closed up on me and Bacculum got a bigger gap. At the end of that lap he was coming out of the pits still in front of me. The next lap I tried my drive through hoping to just loose one place to Mael but came out with Gratulin, Phil and Wally steaming down on me. I tried to keep to the outside of the track as to not cause any accidents, but ran on to the gravel and they all got by. I got past Gratulin a few laps later but Wally and Phil had made a break by that time so come in 5th.

Reverse grid race had lots of overtaking. I was running 6th at one stage, but then there was an accident ahead at the top of the hill and I ran headlong into somebody which spun me around leaving me stationary facing the wrong way. I had to let the 3 or 4 cars coming up the hill go by before I turned around and rejoined. I made a few more passes after that and finished 7th which wasn't too bad.

But I do remember being a little accused on my 1st race and I do remember feeling quite sad about it.

Same, that's why I jumped in here. I got some grief for something I thought was totally fine. It took me about a year racing at XGN to actually feel confident enough to race properly. Nith seems to have that confidence already  8)
