Hardware & Reviews / Re: Pedals........ its time for a change
« on: September 08, 2019, 05:22:57 PM »
I have the CSL Elite pedals, and because the brake needs a lot of force to depress, even at the easiest setting, you really need a cockpit or something solid to mount them.  I have them mounted on my Wheelstand Pro and every time I brake it tips the wheelstand forward.

Other than that, TBH I don't really notice much difference between these and the G27 pedals with the GTEye spring mod.
You can calibrate your max pedal either in the driver software or in-game, I think mine is about 50% in game because my chair is wheels lol

Assetto Corsa Competizione / Re: Monday night race highlights
« on: September 04, 2019, 05:22:29 PM »
Pretty cool video, doesn't show the true highlight for me, chasing you for quite a few laps. My Bentley felt stable through the fast corners and strong in heavy braking zones and at times I could get close to you Wally. However your Audi seemed to really hook up on corner exits and would leave me behind again. Shame the pit stop didn't work well for me again, I didn't get tyres and quit, I think I've resolved this though.

Getting some Monday acc kinda makes up for leaving the Tuesdays, I hope more could join in on acc, while it lacks amount of content it's a huge step up in sim racing, cars, sounds, physics, graphics, weather/night/variability, minus the bugs of course

The two races I could join this season were good, although wasn't feeling it last night for some reason and after missing the start I decided to call it quits. With only one Tuesday a month and having to get up early the next morning I might just pull out of the Tuesdays. Thanks Wally and everyone...

Apps / Re: WheelCheck, LUT Generator and FFBClip for impoved FFB
« on: August 31, 2019, 08:52:15 AM »
Especially ideal for wheels that are not linear eg, logitech and other low/mid range wheels, it made quite a difference with my g920. I tried this with my fanatec v2.5 when I first bought it, but it was not necessary and won't be for direct drive, I just use the ffb clip now.

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: S29R3: Anglesey

I appreciate the changes made but now wondering if it is actually a good idea to do so while the season is under way, considering how infrequent I can join in its probably best that I stay toward the back end out of the way of the championship runner ups lol. Thanks though.

All good don't go changing it for me, take away the veloster and I'd still be stuck in the slowest car lol

Good fun, my first race in this series. I had only one option in car dealer. I'm glad there were others driving the veloster otherwise it would have been lonely at the back. The track was pretty tricky in the Hyundai and after a while was getting more confident in the corner entry slide it needs to get a good exit, feels like I needed a hand brake. Messed up a couple of slides though and braking too late at the end of race two. Thanks guys.
Edit; since I can only race Tuesdays once a month will my earnings (if any) carry over till then? Or...if not could I just drive the datto or what ever, so I'm not in the slowest car every round.

Assetto Corsa / Re: G29 brake pedal issues

I don't ever remember having this auto recalibration issue with mine. Best thing I ever did for my sim driving experience was go to load cell, well worth it.

I had a g920 previously, the brake has a rubber cylinder in it to mimic a realistic brake. Some people recommend removing it so that it feels like their old g27, I didn't however. Can't remember if in logitech gaming software I set the pedal distance to what feels firm (about 50%, office chair too) as well as in game too. Also not sure if while in game (assetto corsa) there might be independent setting for each car from the right side apps on screen. If it's a fault though it could be hardware or just need a driver/software update or reinstall.

Can't remember if there's an in game setting, but nvidia control panel has a setting for maximum pre rendered frames, 1 is ideal for low latency gaming. Try it first in case it causes issues. If you enable the in game drivers hands/wheel see if it moves 1:1 with minimal delay. I think you're right though, the game does feel a little doey, during testing last night on the back straight of Paul Ricard I tried swerving @ over 250km the car moves strangely and only when I added throttle movement I spun.

Doesn't seem to be much advice, at least for me, using the fast set-ups in acc with very minor tweaks. The only tips I got was to get on the throttle earlier on some corners and smooth my steering (on corners I got bit loose...duh). Apparently the engineer is only new so it might get better. Too expensive for what it is.

I bought two licenses ~$45 ac & acc, haven't tried it yet on ac but acc has a few channels missing because of apparent nda's. There's still a lot of data to go over, too much to get my head around but there is a new engineer section that tells me I can get on the gas a bit earlier on many of the corners (throttle acceptance). While it is pricey once you go for a couple of licences (they should do a bundle I reckon) it seems quite handy at least for people that can make the most of it.
