It was good to be back doing a bit of racing. I think the best strategy is to spin in the first race to ensure a good result in the second - worked for me anyway :)

This circuit is good fun but passing is difficult. The new reverse grid was ok but I missed the parade lap with everyone working out their positions. This was a real Thursday feature!!

I agree

The formation lap is part of the Thursday fun, I reckon.

Mael, I think I heard you say "was that really necessary" after I hit you when you had spun. I was in a pack coming around the corner, and I was squeezed by a Lola to my right that stopped me from missing you while you were sliding across the track. So yes, it was necessary :)

what annoys me in regards to spelling, at the better stores that sell alternative products, one group persistently insists on telling me that "flour" is spelt, "flour"!

I think I will need to change to the paddles in this season, the number of shifts wears me out!  ;D
had some good battles, had a 'ping pong' event on one of the reverse grids, narrow track with a big car, even with "helicorsa" doesn't mean you can "see"/anticipate all the overtake events. on one occasion, i moved over to avoid a car on the left taking a positive approach only to find a little car coming up on the the outside, sorry.
no points at all for me this week, will try and make amends to myself at Mills Park...

Was some good starts, better than we managed on Tuesday :D I can't remember which race it was but 3 wide around T1 with cars in front and behind and no contacts. Very cool  8)

I cannot see the point of using h-shifter with a piece of plastic as the gear lever and a potentiometer with zero ffb as a clutch. No feel, realism or immersion whatsoever. Even if you have a gear shift with a gate all it is doing is flicking a switch for each gear selection.

Fanatec stuff feels pretty realistic, definitely adds to the immersion. Even enjoyed shifting on the G27 but Fanatec is another level.

I agree the clutch is pretty dinky, but the metal Thrustmaster shifter feels pretty immersive. It's less synthetic than the little click of the paddle shifter switch.

Is the thrust master shifter compatible with Logitech wheels?

It should be. It's actually complete separate. It plugs into a separate USB port.

The Fanatec (non sequential version) and Thrustmaster shifters are pretty comparable in price and in all the reviews I checked out Fanatec always came out on top.

That said Pagnian imports currently has a sale on all their Thrustmaster stuff and the shifter is a good price: http://www.pagnianimports.com.au/racing-wheels-accessories/accessories/thrustmaster-th8a-shifter-for-ps3-ps4-xbox-for-tx-t300-t500-wheel-th8-rs.html
