I thought it was just for Sheep ...  ???

In practise and qually it looked like I had similar pace to Marty in the BMW (much to my surprise). Race 1 started OK and Marty and I were close and I was hoping for a good battle, but brain fade kicked in and I ran off damaging the car. Still my pace was OK compared to the others in the class and I was making up ground. As Joe said before I had closed in on him and was eyeing up where to pass when Mael came from behind in the fast car and I think misjudged the closing speed and just clipped me in the rear right sending me off.

Race 2 I stayed with the BMW. Dave O rammed me up the rear at turn 1 and I went off into the wall damaging the car. Once again I thought I had enough pace to do OK in class 2 but brain fade kicked in again at the same turn as race 1 and I ran off in a similar fashion doing more damage.

Still I had a lot of fun watching for the fast cars and some great battles with some of the slow cars :)

I'll run in the Beemer thanks :)

Well I must say that I was pretty chuffed to qualify in 6th for this race with far better time than I did in practise  ;D
The start was OK staying in line with those in front. I started with a full tank so the car was heavy.
Mael got a good run on me out of the last turn on lap 5 and although I tried to fight in the first chicane, he got the job done and took the place. On the same lap I had a slight power oversteer at the tight right hander before the back straight which allowed Simone to get alongside and around the outside of the next right hander. I thought I would be able to slip back in behind and get the slipstream and pass him again before the end of the straight, but then realised that Joe had come through behind and blocked me from moving back into the slipstream, then along the straight found that Wally had got the best run of all and passed both Joe and myself (3 places from one minor slip ... grrr).
I then followed Wally and Joe fighting each other until Joe made his move stick on lap 9, then while following Wally out of the last turn, he braked unexpectedly to jump into the pits and I rammed him up the clacker damaging my splitter and allowing Bacchulum to pass.
Pitted at the end of lap 14 for tyres, came out with some clear track, but right behind me were Freezer and Marty ... eeekk ...
I tried to keep them behind but they both got past on lap 17 (a VERY slight touch with Marty as I wasn't keen to give it up too easily). Pitted at the end of lap 22 and added 30L of fuel to get to the end.
Rejoined in front of Wally :) From then on I just kept it clean until the end although I was struggling with grip which I put down to the damaged splitter. I figure that Wally had similar damage from the earlier incident as he wasn't gaining on me.
Was extremely happy with a 6th place finish which later became a 5th place after Joe's penalty was applied.

Great racing all :)

Yeah that is right, you can't pass before the line.

Oh OK.
I thought it was when the leader said go, it was go  :)
I have also been passed before the Start line in previous races which has added to my confusion.
I'll be more aware next time. IMHO standing starts are the only way to go  :D

Yeah, so when the leader says "go" don't just floor it, stay behind the car in front but don't expect anymore braking, floor it when you hit the start line. ;)
I did stay behind the car in front. Just wasn't expecting firm braking half way down the straight because the cars in the middle of the track were so much slower ....

I enjoyed the race. I think Bafs17 must have thought he wasn't allowed to pass anyone before the start line as he braked in the middle of the straight at the start. Surprised the cr@p out of me as I jammed on the brakes and watched 3 cars stream by.
At turn 4 there was a concertina effect and I bumped the back of gratulin (sorry mate), unfortunately turning me left and over the sausage kerb to the infield. Rejoined in last.
From then on I had what I would call a steady and often lonely drive but a nice little battle with Seanus thrown in to spice it up. I was pretty happy to finish in 15th :)

It's great to race with you guys as everyone shows respect and races nice and clean.

I don't think I'll make it tonight.  If I can be arsed I'll take apart my pedals against and give them a blow out, but otherwise I won't make it.  I'll let you know closer to start time.

Having said that I've only managed a dozen laps so don't think I'll be troubling the front runners too much.

Have you sprayed the pots with Isopropyl Alchohol? That's what I used.

Hi Wally,
I should be able to make Tuesdays but probably not Thursdays so sign me up for a run on Tuesdays.
Is there anything I need to download? A link to the rules etc for Tuesdays?

Cheers

Hi Russ and welcome. See the post above yours about Tuesdays and Thursdays. Do you want to sign up for the Tuesday season starting week after next? There's a practice run next Tuesday night.

G'day,
I'm Russell, 57 married no kids. I've been online racing for a few years, started in rFactor then rFactor2. Been hooning around in AC recently with a couple of mates and was told about this place so I thought I'd drop in and see what it's about.
I always try to race as clean as possible so I hope I don't get in anyone's way  8)

I watch all the F1 and some of the V8's when I get the time.

Cheers
