S9R4: Spa post-race chat

1/4 lap into race 1, hit a spinning car around a blind corner and got stuck on a kerb, facing the wall. Short $@#%$ race.

I think we should restart sometimes. I have been taken out first race first lap every round so far, Its not fair to those  who look forward to a race on Tuesdays only to have it wrecked in the first 30 seconds every time

Put in one qually lap and the baby started fussing and was clear i wasn't gonna be able to finish a race. On the plus side it wasn't that quick so hopefully I'll loose my balast? :)

I agree with Phil. Safety car, at least :) For two consecutive races I got hit from behind on lap 1 (by the same person)... I kind of don't like hotlapping all night ;)

the race 2 was my fault... :(

I'm not a fan of restarts in league races. In real life, there are no second chances. It adds some highs and lows to the experience. You must be pretty unlucky to be taken out every round, as for most people it would only happen occasionally.

The starts in this round were pretty clean actually. There were accidents only later into the lap.

At the end of lap 1 in race 2, got caught up in someone else's accident again, and got smacked in the rear, which destroyed my rear aero. It took me a few corners to realise the extent of the damage, so I limped right around, and repaired the car which put me a lap down, to just hotlap to the end and stay behind any cars when I was being blue flagged.

Worst Round Eva.

If that was real life there would be a safety car at least,  need a server a setting that makes the leader become a safety car.

Learned a couple things in race 2 tonight. 1-You need to do a few laps in practice on a full tank to know how much more fuel you use. 2-There's no fuel estimate shown when pitting. No idea how I got this far in season without realising that one! Ah well was a good race apart from having to pit on lap 13.

Damn first lap crash: I had the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th best laps in a 7 laps race and each single one of my 6 laps was faster than the best laps of the first 6 drivers... looks like I could have won. Well: I guess that's how racing goes...

That looks like you just didn't have enough ballast to me, had you not got hit would have won too easily.

Someone predicted carnage, and carnage arrived. Somehow I avoided it all I including being just behind schmittez in race 1 as he spun which began this chain reaction with me somehow getting through untouched.

And I was in the middle of this at t1 race 2 with my little redbull machine somehow avoiding damage again.

On the nite I went as hard as possible every single lap, all qualy laps and race laps were 100% but I still was a bit off the pace with some very close times in qualy. Race 1 after avoiding the carnage I settled in to a battle with Edwood, he passed me early then I hunted him down for the rest of the race passing him back on the last lap only for him to retake the spot again into the bus stop.

Race 2 again dodging the carnage zig zagging through spinning cars, I then drove as hard as I could and chased down Freezer until he made an error out of t1. Then I had Simone next ahead who I was slowly gaining on up to the pitstop, after the stops I had got to within a couple of seconds but also had chap close after the exit. I saw both had very little ballast so it was always going to be a battle but Simone was a little slow on his outlap with both Chap and me passing him fairly early. Then I just tried to hunt Chap down but no matter how hard I tried with 135kg vs 3kg of ballast he could just find some extra pace when he needed it. In the end I got within a couple seconds but it was never going to happen.

Funny to see he still has only 3kg of ballast next race considering his pace and I dropped a whopping 8kg for the next race to get to 126. :)

R1: (See Pic) Car spun in front of me and I T-boned it which set of a big chain reaction.  From there car was stuffed so just plodded around.
R2: Had a few laps with Marty chasing me before I put I wheel on the outer edge of the T1 ripple strip and went around.  Not long after I came into the last chicane and there were cars everywhere.  Managed to slip through and grab a bunch of spots.  From there I pretty much kept it together to come home 8th.

Race 1 was fun enough.  Qualified down the order and got a good start to make a few places up - must have got up to around 6th.  Then was a sitting duck due to ballast so sunk back through the field, although had a nice little battle with Matthew.   Attrition gained me a few places and ended up 4th, which was more so luck than skill.

Race 2 was disappointing.   Got taken out at the final chicane on the first lap which caused a pile up and damages all corners of my car, then a couple of laps later I got ridden into the fence on the Kemmel straight while passing which caused another pile up and my car was red all over.   From there I limped around for 10 laps just waiting for the race to be over.

Schmittez if you cause an accident you need to pull over and redress the position.  You rode me into the wall and kept driving.
