Hahah - all Short Tail drivers.
Won't matter at this track anyway as I think we will be lapped twice again  :o  ::)
But with the same penalty we can keep alive the battle of the Shorties  ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, I expect this track will suit the straight line speed of the Mercs again.

Looking at the last round's results, the lap times were pretty equal across the makes, but I might lower the Short Tail ballast just a little to compensate for the longer refuelling times. The Long Tail also takes a while to refuel, but the Short Tail takes longer, so I'll just uncork it a little.

Also, the long tail still has the power edge on the short tail.
I've a tingling feeling these cars are well balanced for long races w/o messing with ballast & restrictors - the quicker times of the short tail are offset enough by the straight-line speed & slow refill at pit stop & extra fuel usage, probably.
Maybe more than enough with 2 stops...

I think its not just a time comparison.  A Merc catching a shorty will simply drive past it on the next straight and not much can be done about it.  Whereas a shorty catching a Merc in the bends is a whole different situation and often leads to being slowed and/or a high risk pass.

Actually any other car catching the shorty will do that without much issue.

Ok, did some laps in the short tail
One tank is predicted for 20 laps ( ~1.32.mid / lap ).
That means it can probably just do it on one stop if my calculator is correct.   Two stops - not a problem.

Ok, thanks, that's all good then. Remember, two stops are compulsory even if you can do it in one.

I've made the ballast for the Short Tails a paltry 10kg (practice server updated). By my maths and testing, they should be roughly on a par with the Long Tails for overall race duration once you factor in lap times and pit stop durations.

Mazdas and Mercs are still doing their own thing, with their own set of swings and roundabouts.

Won't matter at this track anyway as I think we will be lapped twice again  :o  ::)
But with the same penalty we can keep alive the battle of the Shorties  ;D ;D ;D

So let me get this right. The Shorties keep on crashing into people so you give them a reward?  :P

Preventative measure mate. The car in front of you won't shoot you off the track  ;)
