I knew I was going to be relatively slow in this car, slowly I started to improve. I had managed 1:43.607 by the second race as a PB. I was happy with that time with the joystick,

I was doing ok in about 12th place from 21 on the starting grid after 8 laps I had decided to pit in. Unfortunately Matthew got far too close and slammed my rear pushing me off into the wall, thankfully I pulled it up so only medium yellow damage to front. Had to pit the end of that lap so it pushed me back to around 16th and I climbed my way back to around 14th by the end of the race.  Wally please review Matthews rear end hit for redress rule.

In race 2 I was set near last on the grid but somehow got as high as 10th. I nearly T-boned Seanus from what I saw it was a very dangerous re-entry, or he was spun due to collision and was driving forward as I few of us came screaming around the corner. I had several near misses from cars re-entering after spin offs.  Can people PLEASE start using their track map and look where the cars are on it before attempting to re-enter the circuit or move after a spin when they are on track.
I spun on worn tyres due to a late brake and slide and lost 2 positions to finish 12th.

Yeah I would suggest people use MapDisplay (which shows the whole track and where all the cars are rather than the default one showing your immediate surroundings) and/or an app like the built in Real Time app that shows how far away in seconds the closest few cars to you are so you can tell when you have a safe gap to rejoin.

All in all it wasn't too bad of a start to the season for me.

In the final few minutes of qualifying I managed to find another whole second on my PB so I was happy with that.

Race 1: I had a couple little moments losing out to Diehard early on, it was bound to happen tho, so it was good to have the pressure off early on and just try to keep with him. Not much to say about that race really, I was just watching nith on the relative making sure to keep the pace to stay out of his reach. I think he had a spin or something later on, after that it was just a cruise.

Race 2: Starting with S, I was quite a way back in the pack. I knew it was going to be a bit crazy early on having everyone mixed up so I just tried to keep a clean line and not tag anyone. I wasn't so lucky coming around that left turn before the last chicane corner I was rear ended by Shameless on Lap 1 and I ended up near the back. I slowly caught back up and had to fight for each position which was all good fun. I had a couple more spins in this race aswell, mostly from getting right up behind someone and having to brake harder then I normally would, I had the backend come around on me a couple times because of this. Each time losing positions and having to fight for them again. I was worn out by the end of the race, me and my poor tyres.

Both races I opted to just stay with medium tyres and pitted around the middle of the race each time.

Was happy to be able to make one race though probably not as many points for the team as team manager phil would have liked  ;D

Bit off the pace in qually. Started race will 18 laps of fuel and just changed tyres. We did thst last season and did it on auto pilot which made me a tad slow at the start.

First lap a few corners in nith passed me and cut straight across the front of me and jammed on the brakes. Nothing I could do and had front wing damage from there so that didnt help pace much either.

Held up a few people, nith spun off a few times, managed to jump shayne as he came out of the pits some how. Held him and nith up for a bit until lap 14 where i just touched the curb on the final turn and had a tank slapper.  Was sure I'd hit the wall but dropped a gear and it straightened out.

Shayne went by, nith up along side then cut me off again. Half expected it this time so no contact. Not a cool move dude. Helicorsa may show you are just past me you should prob still stick to your side of the track unless you're well past.

Finished 7th i think.

Race 1 was one of the hardest league races I've had. After a solid start I got stuck behind Joe and just did not have enough pace to get by. Even the draft in the main straight did not help. On lap 7 (?) Joe finally made a small error allowing me past. By that time my tires was starting to go off so I decided to pit early with the extra pace of the new tires ensuring nobody would pass me in the pit sequences. From there I worked as hard as I could especially the last few laps with worn tires for a solid finish.

For race two I reduced my rear wing to help passing down the straight, turned out to be a bad decision. I spun lap 2 causing absolute chaos. for the first few drivers whom I hit I apologize. For the 200 other drivers who kept on crashing into me I would only say bad luck. With an absolutely trashed car I made am early pit stop to fix damage only to find the pit app would not allow changes to tire choices or damages. luckily I had the body-parts selected to be fixed. My last few laps I had surprisingly solid lap-times confirming the lower aero is faster. Big thanks to Shameless for the gift on the last lap  ;D

That's right, it was you and nith that I was battling with, not just nith. Sorry for leaving you out of the original post. My memory comes and goes it would appear :(

You didn't jump me in the pits tho. I had a little off on the outside of that fast right turn and both of you overtook me then before the pitstops. I was only slowly catching you two and was going to pit the same lap as you but when I seen you go into the pits I thought I would try for a couple laps alone and see if I could jump both of you after my pitstop. I think you both were about two seconds in front of me before your stop and after my stop all three of us went into T1 together, that would of been a good fight lasting for the rest of the race I would assume but you had that offtrack and only after that was when I was watching nith on the relative making sure I was keeping my pace up.

Ah that makes more sense. Must not have seen you go off. I saw someone coming out of the pits just before i saw you behind so made the assumption.

Race one was good except for losing the rear a few times which cost me. Was having a great battle with Dave O, unable to get past him.

Race 2 was ordinary till I pulled my wheel off my table trying not to t-bone someone who'd spun.
I then cracked the shits and quit. Not shitty with anyone, just because the wheel came off, plus it's a real pain in the arse not being able to use a clutch to spin the car when you're facing the wrong way.

I managed to keep it clean in both races, despite a few hairy moments. No spins - thanks Phil for the tip of increasing the front bump and rebound. I also got away with a rear wing of 2, and managed to crank the 42's in race 2.

I managed to thread my way through a few incidents where cars had spun or collided, but my arch rival  Simone was not so lucky, after I'd been chasing him. He didn't miss the crashed cars and the quit, I suspect. Bafs gave me a good chase at the end of race 2. I was constantly checking my mirrors. I had a bit of a moment on a kerb that nearly spun me, where I thought he might catch up, but I held on. After starting race 2 last, I managed to finish 5th, which I was very happy with.

I got a few taps and bumps along the way, getting a little bit of aero damage, but it didn't really affect me.

I ran a shorter stint on softs and then a medium stint. I got my PB on mediums though (with a grippier track and a lighter car).

Redress
As Shameless pointed out, it's good manners on track to redress if you know you've stuffed someone else's position up. Do it only when safe though - don't slow suddenly on the racing line which might just cause more incidents. Communicate on TeamSpeak.

Maps
I strongly recommend the use of the Helicorsa app or the built-in track map, or both, for extra awareness of cars around you. The track map is especially useful for track re-entry and leaving pits, so you can see if anyone's approaching.

I forgot to post up penalties last night:

Opening lap penalties
Race 2, Shameless ran into the back of Shayne and spun him - 100 kg penalty ballast for next race.
Seanus hit Chap, but Chap was in the process of spinning on a kerb, so deemed a racing incident.
