Wait, Do we have to do tryouts to get into Season 6?

No, I mean it's just a chance to try the different cars.

8734
Sign me up! Can't wait to do a full season with you guys. Also should I PM what car I want?
You can, but you'll be able to change your mind up to the first round - e.g. after the try-out fun race.

8735
Choose a car from the following fairly evenly matched list:

Ferrari 458 Italia
Ferrari F40
KTM X-Bow R
BMW M3 E30 DTM
Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO II (DLC content)
Alfa Romeo 155 V6 (DLC content)

  • You'll be able to keep the same car for the whole season, with a chance to optionally change to another car one time only, half way through the season.
  • Slower cars will get slightly more points, depending on average lap times for each type of car in each race.
  • Car selection and swap by PM to me only, so people don't know who's going to be in which car (to allow for strategy games).
  • If I don't get a car choice from you, you will be given the Ferrari 458 Italia.
Season Schedule - Tuesday nights
Race 1: Mar 24, Nurburgring GP, 3 x 8 laps (final qual 8 mins)
Race 2: Mar 31, Silverstone International, 3 x 13 laps (final qual 5 mins)
Race 3: Apr 7, Imola, 3 x 7 laps (final qual 10 mins)
-- Optional car change --
Race 4: Apr 14, Mugello, 3 x 8 laps (final race, 2 half reverse grid )
Apr 21 - bye, with a fun run
Race 5: Apr 28, Spa, 3 x 6 laps (final race, 2 half reverse grid )
Race 6: May 5, Pukekohe Park Raceway [DOWNLOAD], 3 x 13 laps (final race, 2 half reverse grid )

Start Times
All times are EASTERN time.

Practice: 7:30pm, 60 mins
Qualifying 1: 8:30pm, 15 mins
Race 1: 8:45pm, 15 mins (approx)

-- Server restart --

Qualifying 2: 9:00pm (approx), 10 mins
Race 2: 9:10pm (approx), 15 mins (approx)

-- Server restart --

Qualifying 3: 9:25pm (approx), short qually, enough time for 4 laps, to mix the grid a little.
Race 3: 9:35pm (approx), 15 mins (approx)

Finish: 9:50pm (approx)

Server Settings
  • Damage: 60%
  • Tyre wear: 100%
  • Fuel multiplier: 100%
Points
  • Individual driver points are 24,2,22, etc. down.
  • Team points are the accumulation of the individual team member's points. If a reserve stands in for an absent team member, they score points for the team.
  • Each driver's worst round is dropped, and the worst team round is also dropped.
  • Fastest lap bonus: 1 points awarded at the end of each race for the driver who sets the fastest lap time.
Penalties
  • If a driver hits someone carelessly in turns 1 or 2 at the start of a race and it pushes them off the track or spins them, they get a 4 point penalty, and the driver hit will get a 4 point bonus. You still have to redress any gained positions.
  • If a driver gets two turn 1 or 2 penalties in a season, they will have to skip the first qualifying session of the next round and start the race from the back of the grid.
  • No other penalties will apply. The usual respect for other drivers and redressing unfairly gained positions will be expected as always.
Rules
  • Track Limits. The Pit Lane Penalty app is mandatory. Any drive through penalties issued must be taken within 3 laps. Details of the app are here: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/a-pit-lane-penalty-app-for-repeated-track-cutting-0-8a.17852/
  • Redress. If you gain position advantage over another driver by colliding with them such that their car leaves the track, or by cutting the track yourself, you are expected to redress your position as soon as safely possible. Gaining position by "reasonable" side-by-side contact is allowed, but rear collisions must be avoided. This won't be enforced. It is an honour system.
  • Track Re-entry. You must always re-enter the track with extreme caution. Any collision on re-entry must be redressed.
  • Assists. Driving assists like ABS and TC can be used only if available on the car. There is no forced driving view.
  • Map and Mirrors. To assist in knowing where other cars are around you and on track (especially for leaving pits and re-entering the track after a spin), it is recommended to use the virtual mirror (F11) and turn on the track map which shows the nearby cars.
  • Tyres. There are no restrictions on tyre choice.

Driver Sign Up
Reply in this thread to sign up for the season. Numbers are limited to 24 (limited by pit boxes). Extra drivers go on the reserve list, to be called up into a race if a position becomes available.
If a driver doesn't show up on race night without notification, they get a * on the entry list. If they get two *'s, they will be demoted to the reserve list, so someone else can get a race.

Sign up now - but don't post your car selection.

I have changed the fuel rate for race 2 to 1.5x. This means that a full tank will do about 14 laps, in a 20 lap race. I did this so we don't all just pit at the half way point - it opens up being able to pit early, or late, but you still will have to pit.

The practice server is up with this setting.

In the '34's? :o

The only 34's I have is sphincter clenching/sec every time I slightly touch a curb! :-X
I'm too shit scared to try and go fast. >:(

Amen to that.  The kerbs at Mugello are b-r-o-k-e-n.

What time will the S6 tryout be? Before or after the race?
Oops, my mistake - bumped these races back a week.

Hi, I'm new here!

Can I join too?
Daan

Hi Daan, sure! Get your GUID from race.INI in your AC documents/cfg folder, and PM it to Flattop Bruce.

8742
You're onto me. I HATE this car. :)

8743
Historically I am slow at Mugello,i love it,but it hates me

Damn, this is going to be hard! The car is twitchy and nervous, the kerbs are treacherous, high speeds. I predict lots of off-track excursions (by me, anyway).

4WD is the same as AWD right?

Not if you're positioning the game to support AWD robins.
