Hardware & Reviews / Car and Track Storage
« on: May 05, 2022, 09:34:00 PM »
Can anyone tell me how to alter where the cars and tracks can be stored.
I'm sure there's an ini file that dictates where they are.  I want to move them off onto a second ssd drive to clear some space.

Racing general / Not Foxtel
« on: April 03, 2019, 09:52:21 PM »
Hi guys,
There is a new service out called https://kayosports.com.au/
Its basically Netflix for sport and is has 50 different sports from around the globe including all types of
motorsport (F1, Supercars, MotoGP, Rally etc etc ) for only $25 per month with no contracts.

It has the Fox Sport feeds so for us motor racing fans you miss nothing and its in HD.
My experience so far is that the picture quality is excellent via the PC and Phone.
You can also get a Chromecast and stream it via your smart TV.

It streams live and if you miss something you can watch it later (no need to record).

Half the price of foxtel and better......

Assetto Corsa / G25 & G27 Potentiometer fix
« on: November 13, 2018, 06:02:28 PM »
There has been various people over time who have experienced spiking with their pedals on G25 & G27's, myself included.
It has also been hard to find replacements however I located these replacements.

https://www.digikey.com.au/product-detail/en/cts-electrocomponents/450D103F7/450D103-6-ND/183274

I grabbed three for around $17 plus delivery from their Aus web site.

I fitted them and found the following minor issues.
The main shaft is slightly shorter but has no effect on installation.
The small loops on the electrical connectors need to be snipped off to allow normal connection.
The hole in the metal pedal body that you slide the shaft through is around 1mm to small, so a quick drill to enlarge fixes that.

Once installed, I found they have a different range of motion to the originals.  You need to go into Options | Controls in AC and adjust the min and max values for the pedal (see Pic for my Throttle).
With this done it operates completely fine.

Update: I reset the pedals (usb in/out or reload profile in AC) and range issue was gone!

Upshot is a brand new potentiometer for minimal spend that works correctly after a few modifications.
