God I wish my fiance didn't like her crappy shows that are only shown on Foxtel.

On another note though, if you call Foxtel and ask to disconnect because of Kayo and you don't record shows or use anything other than sports they'll drop your Sport + HD package to $39 per month for a year.
You might be able to get those crappy shows via Fetch @ $6pm. You need to buy a Fetch box however.

Order the Fanatic stuff direct from their web site.

I built this from aluminium profile for ~$1k plus car seat for ~$250. It only has 24" screens. I did have access to a friend who fabricated some of the aluminium parts for me to save money.
Very nice work Gratulin. Wish I had some of those skillz.
It resembles the Sim Lab rig https://sim-lab.eu/product/gt1-evo/
Did you get inspiration from there?
That was the starting point but then I integrated the monitor stand and the PC deck. The monitor arms became real simple and strong once I decided to go for a fixed 45deg angle.

Finding the leather BMW seat was a real bonus - it is from a 2012 coupe.

The skills are my friend's - he started as a tool maker and also worked on super maxis so he could make just about any bracket I needed.

has anyone tried F1 TV. Is it the full sky sport coverage and commentary?
Didn't think it was available in Australia?

Assetto Corsa Competizione / ACC News

ACC 0.5 cancels multiplayer update.

Looks like ACC is going the same way as AC - the “A-team” spends endless time squeezing the last 1% of improvement from the physics while rest of development languishes.

PS. I’m reminded of the E39 BMW 5 series where BMW did not believe drivers should have cup holders and therefore gave the job of designing them to some trainee engineer. Needless to say they were totally useless and broke repeatedly.

You would flick a marble up the side with a spring, like a pinball machine, and the first player to get all their cars to the bottom won.
cool :)

Yeah my first was Indianapolis500 on Amiga that got me hooked I think.  Decent driving model and awesome damage!
I think it had pit stops, even.  It was very comprehensive, very lifelike.

I mean I've played 'racing' games, including a very simple one on a programmable calculator of all things, but I do not class those as simulators.

I find even classing the C64 TD in that category, although it's getting there.  I believe there was some ZX Spectrum game similarly simplistic but first person racing - still, it did not stick with me.
Edit: oh yeah, this one, the "Checkquered Flag" : http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0000912

Having said all that, the real hook was LFS - online racing is so much more fun than lapping alone!
Funny that LFS still had a better interface & community features then, than AC now. Huh.
Still does! Also things like adjustable mirrors, split times as you pass timing point...

Assetto Corsa / Re: Show only xgn servers in AC online server list
« on: November 28, 2018, 12:48:09 PM »
I use this filter in Content Manager, !xgn.in.th XGN.

Not using Content Manager is like using 14.4k dial up to access the internet!  :o
I rather think about it like managing a linux server without a graphical interface :)

Using bash instead of source tree.. stupid fucking source tree.. bash ftw
The post was about the AC Launcher NOT the Content manager. No need to confuse things by stating the obvious. I also use Content Manager but this is a good trick to improve the standard launcher for those who use it.

Assetto Corsa / Show only xgn servers in AC online server list
« on: November 28, 2018, 08:52:01 AM »
Hi,

I just stumbled across this neat way to always filter the list of online servers in AC. I put "xgn.com.au" in place of "tweakers" but you can put anything you like. Good thing about this is that it just enters the text into the search field so you can easily change it when you want to look at other servers.

https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/filtering-servers-in-multiplayer-screen.53151/

Simple change in the launcher screen

Code: [Select]
Folder :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\launcher\themes\default\modules\online

Edit with Notepad : online.html
Search for  :
<input type="text" class="serversearch" title="Search in server list" />
Change to :
<input type="text" class="serversearch" value="tweakers" title="Search in server list" />

This will show only the servers with Tweakers in the name as soon as I open the online tab.

The only thing you can really evaluate is the physics. The rest of the game is very early beta and pretty rough. Only compare physics to AC. I am definitely not a good driver but I think the ACC physics is a major step up from AC. The most obvious improvement is how you can feel and control the rotation of the car. Lots of detail compared to AC.

Interestingly, due to my shoulder injury I set the FFB on my wheel to 60% and was surprised at the extra detail and control that resulted.

Assetto Corsa Competizione / Re: ACC Triple Monitor Support
« on: October 23, 2018, 07:29:36 PM »
BTW ACC does run on triple screens. It just doesn’t correct the perspective for the side monitors.

At first I didn't like it but I don't really notice it anymore. This is on 24in monitors. Would be different for 27in I would think.

Did you try it on ACC?
