There are 2 Donington Park tracks in AC. The attached one here is a scratch-built version.
Note:
"One thing to be aware of is that while there are 24 places on the grid, there are only 19 in the pitlane (that's as many as Donington will accommodate unless I place them perpendicular to the track."

The post for track mod 1 by Wally is for the netKar conversion.

Donington Park 1.04
Changelog:
Increased pit places to 24 which should allow a full grid in multiplayer*
Textured remaining buildings
Made cones and corner markers physics objects
Optimised resolution and bit depth of textures where appropriate
Improved models for all tyre barriers
Added trackside objects, vehicles and marshals etc.
Added LOD settings for performance improvements
*this meant rotating the starting position to accommodate the extra spaces. The AI cope with this ok but it hasn't been tested in MP...

mmm....hope this one is good. It's a damn good track.
-
I think you could change your previous raging of 3 now :) This track seems very usable for a league night, even if the surface is too smooth.
-
Yea we gave it a bit of a run last nite and seems like it works in all areas needed and the track is oretty well done. The Pits work as long as collisions are kept off in pits seeing cars are parked at 45 degree angles. You can still take a stop parked normall but being a bit compressed it would be chaos if collisions were in pits and most of the field went in together.

version 1.05
Fixed problem near pit exit which caused collisions for cars with very low ground clearance
Tweaked shaders for less contrast between ambient and direct light
Added much more track-side detail

This might be the other mod version ie the Nkpro conversion?

Looks to be the same guy (Brun, on the left) - why would he create two different conversions?
-
okay dokey, which track of the new version would you like for Thursday Bird?
-
I don't have a problem with the long version... ;)
But easy either way. If people don't know the track, the short one is a tad easier to start with. Maybe do that (the short aka national)?
Annoying thing is; everyone needs to d/l it, and it's 256 MB...
Racedepartment itself isn't too bad, however I can't download it with any decent speed here.
Funnily, I was able to pull the file to our US server in under a minute (~6M/s).
Here it is on our server, maybe quicker:

Yes the same. Would have helped if I had checked before posting - grrhhh!!

As at test for hosting these "things" can one or 2 try this.
Donington Track Download from an S3 Bucket (https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/flattops.bucket/AssettoCorsaTracks/doningtonpark-national_1-06.rar)

Yep, that works very well, too. Amazon is good.

If it is cost effective we have some redundancy.

Well, in fact we run a lot of servers - game servers - in the ec2 cloud.
You could d/l the file onto any of those, and expose it for download if an apache runs on it.
Altho the s3 costs peanuts, too. I just found it very fiddly to use. How do you load the files up there directly from the web?
-
sorry only just spotted this :(
through the AWS console, to the bucket directory, upload, then set to 'available' ta da.
-
hehe, no worries, thanks!

version 1.07
Too many graphical improvements to list
Lots of optimisations. Despite the increase in quality performance should be at least equal to, if not better than previous versions.
Much more detailed modelling of the runoffs and apexes at Redgate, Old Hairpin, McLeans and Coppice. Extra care needs to be taken to not exceed the kerbs or there is a risk of damage.
Modified the AI line so they don't use the pit exit to get a better line for Redgate.
Probably other stuff I've forgotten...
