It's a bit gimmicky. Windscreens shatter too easily, engine and gearbox damage is too easy with an H shifter (and my rough gear changes). For the rest, its pretty cosmetic, and not even very realistic looking. If you hit something really really hard you may break your suspension and have to drive with a bent steering wheel. But my inclination is to turn it off. I think it will just make racing more painful rather than immersive. I dunno...maybe wait with it indeed Logged Bacchulum RestrictedRacing Hero Member Posts: 3403 Karma: 96 Re: To damage or not to damage, that is the question. « Reply #3 on: October 17, 2014, 10:30:26 AM » Don't know if it's related, but I had severe stuttering when damaged offline. But that was with severe damage as well (3 corners yellow). Really does look like an after thought. But i can understand that it's a whole new set of physics to deal with. Let's just hope it improves as it is a very important part of realism and immersion I think. Although severe ie., suspension, damage seems to be accurate-ish. It's not going to add much to the experience. This is all code for "I can't drive with a clutch and H shifter without wrecking my gearbox". I didn't get the impression it was too sensitive. The cracked windscreen didn't bother me. I kinda like it. Maybe street cars are a lot squishier, seeming they are road cars?
