Season 29 - Touring Car Racing
« on: June 26, 2019, 08:59:26 PM »
Season 29 will feature 2.0 litre touring cars, using the XGN car dealer as a strategic handicapping system again. The cars are BOP'd to have a spread of performance capabilities, so that the slower drivers can once more afford to drive a faster car, based on your fastest race lap times.

The (mostly FWD) cars are easy to drive (but quickly?), harder to spin, easier to rub panels.

This time round, you will earn more money than last time and be able to afford faster cars quicker, however at the end of the round you will return your car and only keep your earnings from that round - i.e. you can't save up a profit. It's up to you whether you're going to aim to be among the faster drivers one round, and then have a slower car the next round, or take a more middle ground. End result - closer racing.

There will be a damage fee again when you return your car.

The cars
Citroen C-Elysee WTCC TC1
Mercedes A45 AMG TCR
BMW 320SI
Seat Leon TCR
Nissan Primera
Hyundai Veloster

The cars come from a variety of different mods, packaged into one download HERE.

Update 28/6: Car pack updated to include extra AMG A45 skins
Update 29/6: Fix Nissan Primera minimum ride height (or download individual file in this post).

The tracks
Brands Hatch Indy
Donington GP
Anglesey
Silverstone GP
Barbagallo
Croft
New Jersey Motorsport Park

The 600hp 4WD Rallycross car is the entry level car???

Truth is, in game it's only got 300hp and is at least 500kg overweight!!
I haven't looked, but is it the rallyx car?
I'm pretty sure Millen is also running Hyundai's BTCC program. :-\
I could be wrong

No idea. I just know it's the slowest car :)

I've repackaged the cars - I had a few errors. Please re-download the cars from the main post, or from HERE. You now drop the contents folder from the zip file into ...\steamapps\common\assettocorsa (I was missing some fonts).

Tyre Pressure EngineerIf you use this app, here's an updated IdealPressures.ini file for these cars which you can drop into steamapps\common\assettocorsa\apps\python\TyrePressureEngineer.

Did you download the car pack very early on, or the updated car pack that I modified?

Mismatch on the AMG for me too. Using latest download, you can't even join with the old download as you changed the Nissan's folder name.
I'll check it all out later. The Primera folder name was changed by the mod author on some latest version of the car; I originally had the old version's folder name.

I've restarted the server - see how you go now with checksums.

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”

These cars needed vetting before being offered up for a season.

Seat has a borked model LOD layout.
AMG has five! mirrors and two! cockpits and no LODs.
Nissan has borked setup.
Citroen sounds like it is rear engined.
Hyundai has no LODs.
BMW has no LODs.

And I haven't even gone looking for faults, this stuff is just evident as soon as I drive the cars.

Get me or someone else to fix this type of stuff before we begin a season. Please.
Maybe to your modder's eyes. I didn't notice a thing, myself. But if you want to fix anything that this is purely visual or audio related, and doesn't affect performance or physics at all to throw out my BOPping, feel free. We'll all benefit from it.

Yes must be hard for a modder not to see faults, I am a builder and even though I don't do it anymore really, I cant walk into a house without finding faults
