Being English I do feel like I should support Lewis, but following him on Facebook and seeing how much of a bell end he is I like to see him crash more than do well. Looking forward to seeing what Vestappen will do this season.

On the way to the track on Sunday I said to my brother that I'd take Ricciardo not even making it to the grid if it meant Vettel beat Hamilton.  Well, I guess I have to be happy then!

Ferrari clearly had the race pace on Mercedes.  They have made a great car, although I think they need to have a good look at Kimi.  I think someone like Sainz might be Ferrari bound next year.

The suspension ruling has killed RBR.  Hope they find a way around it.

How did you end up Phil?  At least the weather was brilliant for all 4 days.

Crucial moment when the Mercedes called Hamilton in first, they made a huge mistake and watching Mr Wolff punching the table in despair was gratifying.............. ;D

But, ye the way they throw those cars in the corners is incredible,i think is going to be  a sensational season, eventhough the duo Hamilton Vettel seams anassailable, but let the other teams adjust a bit.....forza Ferrari!!!!

Not sure it was a mistake. What do you think? Hamilton's comment on the podium was very frank (and honest I think) that he had to come in for tires. Makes you think that they felt Vettel would eventually overtake on track due to tires.

I think it was not  a mistake to call him in before vettel. What i am saying is that they should have checked the possible traffic and if hamilton would re-enter behind a hard bone to chew like Verstappen,,,thats all

Agreed. That was the mistake but not sure how they could have avoided that - they were under pressure :) AND Ferrari didn't panic like last year and follow them in - shows they are confident in their car.

Looking good for the season with Ferrari competitive. Hope Redbull can improve.

Vettel may face further punishment over collision with Lewis Hamilton

Clearly Mercedes with a British driver is hard to beat(mafia) This British driver is an asshole and always will be.

Vettel....from the video you can tell clearly(i am a racing driver)  lol.... that vettel did not mean to hit the British driver,he simply lost it by waving with his right hand, which is very easy to do while steering with one hand with those car.

F,,,ck todt and vaffanculo that cocky british driver.

....opinions??
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Bacchulum on June 29, 2017, 09:04:34 AM
Two points:
1.  Vettel should have been controlling his car and not waving his hand, hence the 'potentially' dangerous driving charge.
2.  Vettel should've known how Hamilton drives behind the safety car, after all, he was caught out by it way back in Fuji 2009.

I'm not saying Hamilton is innocent, it wasn't only Vettel, but most of the field stacked up, not expecting Hamilton to brake on exit of the corner.
But all this is just conspiracy......

The truth is.......
God Honey Badger, that Daniel's been praying to, used His divine powers to cause it all. ;D
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Joe on June 29, 2017, 09:37:06 AM
I didn't think he braked, he just didn't accelerate and Vettel was probably focused more on Perez. Apparently nothing int he telemetry showed he braked.

I don't think Vettel meant to drive into him though, but he did loose his cool and should he not have driven up beside him to wave his fist none of it would have happened.

Also they're all cocky assholes; that's what makes them so good at what they do  ;D
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Bacchulum on June 29, 2017, 09:44:43 AM
That's the confusing bit.
The FIA said the telemetry showed no braking by Hamilton but the on-screen, TV telemetry, showed he applied the brake and slowed from 85kph to 50kph.
If the TV telemetry is wrong, don't show it, as it will contribute to these disagreements. :-X
I'm sure there are plenty of FIA/Mercedes conspiracy theories based on this alone.

Vettel: “He brake-tested me. What the hell is going on?”
“Understood. Focus on the restart.”
Vettel: “I have damage.”
“We will check.”

Hamilton: “Vettel literally just came alongside me and turned in and hit me.”
“Yep. Copy.”

Vettel appeared not to understand why he had been given his penalty.

“We have a ten-second stop and go penalty for dangerous driving.”
Vettel: “When did I do dangerous driving?”

Vettel: “Did you get an explanation when I did dangerous driving?”
“We speak later. Now keep your head down and mode box.”

Hamilton: “A ten-second penalty is not enough for driving behaviour like that. You know that, Charlie.”
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Bacchulum on June 29, 2017, 12:27:31 PM
Someone needs to point out to these drivers that Charlie Whiting DOESN'T hand out the penalties, the stewards do. ::)
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Gratulin on June 29, 2017, 10:36:58 PM
1. An F1 driver who accidentally swerves a few metres to the right while travelling at 40kmh??? AND does a perfect tire to tire hit!!! Interesting concept...
2. Telemetry shows Hamilton briefly touches brakes at corner apex and then doesn't accelerate.

No more FTA F1. Only on Foxtel. Not sure when this kicks in.
 http://eftm.com.au/2017/09/fox-sports-nabs-formula-1-rights-in-full-from-channel-ten-43657

EDIT: I think it kicks in this weekend. F1 official site says that the Malaysian GP is on ONE live this Sunday. Latest TV program guide doesn't show it.  :'(
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Bacchulum on September 30, 2017, 03:06:34 PM
You'd think the F1 bigwigs would realise that that's just offering their sponsors LESS audience.
That's Bernie's style but I thought Liberty would be different. :-\
But I'm one of those hardcore suckers that coughed up the Foxtel money when Ten lost the live rights. :-[
I presume Ten is only left with the Australian Grand Prix, with laws protecting events of 'national importance' from going pay exclusively.

It's still a sad day. :'(
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Gratulin on September 30, 2017, 04:19:02 PM
Yep. No way going to Foxtel just for F1. But I think from the article Ten has a tight contract with F1 and sells onto Foxtel so Liberty are stuck until that runs out. I would expect/hope direct subscription deals like MLB in the States might happen after that.
Title: Re: Formula 1
Post by: Bacchulum on September 30, 2017, 05:29:26 PM
You're probably correct there.
Liberty's hands  are likely tied until all Bernie's old contracts run out.
And Ten need the revenue.
The pot of gold is Liberty are very clued up on digital delivery, so a direct subscription is definitely on the cards. ;)

Then go here:

Grab one of the IDs and in Ace select open by ID and paste in the ID.

Hate to say it Simone but Ferrari are back markers!   Their dodgy engine tweaks have been removed, to many bad decisions, they need to get it together.
Can't rely on the "Ferrari" name forever, haven't won a championship for 11 years . . . . :o

The car is shit, the engine does not push at all,the aerodynamic is raw,its true its on  railways but in the long straight it gets punished. The  Ferrari mechanics(once top in the world) now stumble together.ONE MINUTE AND 10 SEC from the mercs before giovinazzi crash, and worse..........at every race Ferrari going backwards. Ferrari fired James Allison......i mean  hahahahahahaa

At this stage Leclerc and Vettel is a luxury i tell ya!!!!

But i can say that now and for ever,,,,FOCKING FORZA FERRARI!!!!!!!      Brits and Germans are loving this but ,,,,beware of the dog!!!!

Also.....i love the comments from Mr brundle, but his British focking friend is really,,,,really,,,really.....focking really giving  me the shit.

Leclerc radio messages  protesting about this shit have been censored,,,,,,its a tragic moment in Scuderia Ferrari.

A bit of luck for Gasly but held his nerve (unlike Stroll) for a nice win. Good to see.

Looking forward to this weekend, the racing may not be that good but seeing F1 cars around Mugello will be  8)

LH44 pole lap onboard will be impressive.

ahahahahahahah   Joe!!   The last 3 races???   number 1, and this one was really really good!!!! It was incredible to see those inter tyres reduced to"slick" cause nobody had the guts to put slick on!!! Charles very unlucky indeed he did a top top job,but a silly mistake at the last corner ruined all his focking incredible race...honestly!!!

Lewis!!??   hes a champ mate no questions, congratulations to him and the Mercedes team

Vettel?  i knew from the starts he would have done well, very well,he knows the wet and beyond!!!

I have immensely enjoyed this  race!!!!   No traction control,no abs,,,,,wheels spinning in 5th...mate!!!   top kids!!!!!!   ALL OF THEM!!!

PS:  Charles goes....Sono un coglione,,,SONO UN COGLIONE!!   Meaning    i am a jerk!!!    hahahaahahahahah  after that the Boss told him to stop whinging and to bring the car back!!!   Charles showed all his potential if you ask me,,,,incredible kid this one

I find these lists questionable.  I get it for the top few however below that I wonder if these are "book values" the teams run for internal accounting purposes or to big note in these stories. Economies don't work this way (at least in my world) - plenty of drivers, very few seats and teams struggling to find budget.

For example, I would be staggered if HAAS is actually transferring $3.2m each to Grosjean and Magnussen. There are equal (or better) drivers who would do it for free to try and get time in front of other teams. Same for Sauber, no way Kimi is taking home $10m these days.

I mean, even Bottas, how the hell does that negation go:-
TEAM: We will give you $2m to drive in the best car, win a few races but mostly roll over for Lewis.
VB: No, I am the 5th best driver in the world, I demand $15m.
TEAM: Well Valtteri, we do like you and Lewis loves having such a pushover in the other car so what about $5m a free watch and some paddock passes for your mates?
VB: You are not respecting my Finish greatness - $15m or I will go back to Williams, it's not a threat it's a promise.
Team: Ok, Ok, calm down. It's a tough deal but done! $15m it is.
I don't think so, pretty much every driver bar 2 or 3 in this years field could do the same or better job as Valtteri in that car.

I'd not do it for any money.

I'd throw up in my helmet every time so badly I'd not be able to finish 2 laps.  And I'd feel absolute shit for days.

Btw, big kudos to the safety; just seen news of this insane crash.   The guy walks away with burns to his hand that's all.   He fucking went through the barrier.  Mental.
