Definitely a Ferrari track so I recommend all in DTM's to go Ferrari's for the rest of the season.  ;)

I've put an F40 setup in my dropbox for anyone considering the F40.  Good for a 2.02.4

If you can do 2:02.4 then I am nowhere near that, I cant get the 458 to do anything. Its rubbish on braking, crappy on turn in pretty average mid corner then exits like a pos. It can go ok down the straight but everything I tried setup wise makes it either worse or the same.  :(

I did a couple of quick laps in the 458 after the F40 and managed a 2.03 flat.  I reckon mid 2.02's should be achievable with a bit of setup work and practice in the 458.  I think I just used a setup I had for Vallelunga.

The good thing about going from the F-40 to the 458 is that they are similar in many respects so you can use similar lines and reference points.  The F40 is a lot more unstable under brakes though and more difficult to put the power down... I guess you'd expect a couple of minor improvements after 22 years!

I found the difference between cold and warm tyres on the 458 was very noticeable.

Not sure if the grip level is down on the practice server but thats the only place I tried it and was struggling at 2:04.5 maybe get a second on that but not 2.5 Seconds.

The practice server is always on 100% grip.

Been putting in a lot of practice laps in the 458 and only managed to get in the 2:06s once. Lots of 2:07s but can't seem to get any better. Trying to work on braking as late as I can, slow in fast out. Hard for newbie... Forza was so much easier than this to win  ;D

Managed to drop into 2.01 territory in the Alfa with only a small setup tweak/mediums & half tank.  The grip certainly helps on this track!

Are you using an app with a live delta time to see what makes you quicker or slower on certain parts of the track?  This is a must IMO.  I use Mini Apps - Stats Bar Plus.

Looks like the Ferrari boys will be battling mid-pack then! :)

I'm using the one that comes with AC, but will have a look at that one. I find on this track I often make or break a lap on the first corner.

Sorry Dick, the grid's full. But if there's a no show for race 1, I can slot you in for races 2 and 3. What car would you want to drive?

Dick there is no group A the beamer has been changed to the DTM variant. Beware this is probably the most challenging car to drive of these since v1.1 and needs heavy setup work to be reasonably driveable yet it will still be slower then the merc and alfa.

Thanks for the heads up marty. not worried about being off the pace, just want something i can drive.
Perhaps the merc then?

Yea Dick I think the Merc is the easiest of the 3 DTM cars to drive, the Alfa is quicker but being 4WD its a little quirky too and can be a bit trickier to get pace out of it. The advantage of the Alfa is off the line and out of slow corners which at Mugello wont be much of an advantage other then the race starts. Alfa will probably also be a bugger on front tyres around the long fast corners I think overall you will enjoy the merc most.

Dick has the Merc. You're not on the grid for race 1, but I can put you in if there are some no-shows.

Thanks wally! I'm running very late. Still at work of all places. What time does race two start roughly? In crazy eastern states time is ok. I'll be an hour still i think at least
