Good to see Bacchulum enter into the spirit of this season :) :) :)

Which means I will probably take the raf_80, I only did a a few laps last night in it, but it felt truly awful :)

Don't make the season a chore for yourself Phil, at least pick a car you like to drive.

Hey Phil, what a great little track for these cars. Flat out, slight elevation changes, blind corners. great fun.

I'll take the MTX1-06 Please.

Tuff choice for a car. First thought I'll go slow and choose the RUF. However during the last practice race I found that you can get around its lazy front end with some setup and driving changes so its just as quick as the others. The MTX's would make for great racing, had a ball chasing Wally during the second practice race but its a bit boring.

So I'm going to go with the first car I tested, the Avia_ae2, slow in a straight line but man so CHUCHABLE! I'm usually complaining of a lack of front grip but that thing just sticks  :)

So Phil a Avia_ae2 for me please...(and you are not allowed to take the Estonia_20_1600  ;D)

Did some aero mapping in the E21 and managed to get 40% front CoP, even without a front wing. 8)
And that allowed me to get the spring frequencies back to a more traditional delta. ;D
Setup posted on sTracker. ;)

OK Dave, which App gives you this technical mumbo jumbo witchcraft? I know I won't be able to make heads nor tails out of it, but I would love to try.

You need to enable Dev_Apps.
This is located in your main install: (steam crap)/assettocorsa/system/cfg/assetto_corsa.ini
Once you do this, you'll have access to the Wings app, which shows total d/f for each element, d/f & drag coefficients as well as CoP % (front) (I call this the wind tunnel).
You'll also have access to the Car Engineer app, which gives damper ratios as well as suspension frequencies (shaker rig).
I use Car Physics app to get the weight distribution which locates the CoP (just rearwards of this point).

Enjoy the world of numbers. 8)

I simple to understand app that gave these numbers in a way dummies like me could understand would be cool

Some, or most, of these measurements aren't exposed to public apps, unfortunately.

Thanks Dave. I'll check it out. Expect my lap times to fall off a cliff.
I think the most valuable bit is the wing's balance (CoP) percentage.
With some cars, one 'click' can be 20% on one end and only 5% on the other.
Get the CoP right, you don't over-compensate with the suspension and excessively wear the tyres on one axle, as well as getting a better balanced car in both high and low speed corners.
The rest can be closely judged by feel (by others I believe, but I like confirmation).
My laptime improves more through confidence of consistency more than a gain in grip itself, but it can't hurt to know the car better. ;)

This is a great high speed track, reminds me of Oesterreichring 70s, and just as hard to get right!!! After much stuffing around with setup, and many laps later, I went back to my Magione setup (which I was completely happy with)  and voila I managed a 1m29s :). Might be worth a try if you are having trouble, but you need to feel comfortable at the track first ;). This track is a great find and looks beautiful as well, thanks Seanus :) :) :).

I have put my setup for the Avia-af87 on PTracker, which uses no aero :). And one for Metalax 106, also with no aero.
