Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Poll: Interest in ACC« on: June 07, 2019, 09:55:46 PM »That would be goodMaybe you could run two series sort of parallel...I mean on a 2-week interval...one week AC, next ACC and so on. Just an idea...if others like it as well.I'd prefer not to have too much chopping and changing. I'm just gathering people's thoughts, but at this stage I'm leaning towards an enduro round in between AC seasons. 197
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Poll: Interest in ACC« on: June 06, 2019, 05:35:27 PM »Ok. Yeah, GT3's are my favourite race cars and I'm sure it looks awesome on a single screen, but I put a lot of effort in my rig and them coming out with this, not even supporting triple's is just wrong in my eyes. I wasn't aware of it when I bought it.That comment by Nicki Thiim is a bit disappointing.Just try it yourself... I ride kerbs perfectly fine. It's no different to AC in that regardless. I've had quite a few good pick up races online. However, don't wanna spoil it...hope you've got a lot of fun with it Maybe you could run two series sort of parallel...I mean on a 2-week interval...one week AC, next ACC and so on. Just an idea...if others like it as well. That would give me a bit more time to learn a new track (haven't done enough laps on the Deutschlandring by far) and prepare for a race and there's even some realism to it, as real racing series aren't on a weekly interval either...again, just an idea 198

That comment by Nicki Thiim is a bit disappointing.
I don't think Kunos is on the right track with this one...wished they got the basics right and then work on eye candy, not vice versa...that's just assuming they actually do work on the basics. I purchased it quite some time ago, but I'm too busy...or maybe lazy to set it up. So far money wasted... 199
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: S28R5: Deutschlandring« on: June 04, 2019, 10:54:59 PM »Hmmm, yes it was in the "2nd corner" even though the corners are very long. I think given that it was the second corner and the move by the red car was unexpected and unnecessary, and it impacted the blue car so badly, I will call that a penalty. Thanks for your input. If it's the second turn than it's definitely the right decision...imo anyway. 200

I won't use ACC without triple screen support...as soon as they've got it I'm keen to get into it. If you run a Tuesday's series I'll give it a miss, but possible show up for some fun runs on Thursday instead, unless that's on ACC as well.

Watch in particular the red car in front.I'd call it pretty bad driving by the car in front...unnecessary move. It wasn't happening in the first two turns where we're supposed to stick to our lines, was it? It wasn't intentional...so I'd say no penalty...really bad luck for the guy suffering from this move. 202

I'm at 3:20, but I've hardly managed to get a full lap in. There's this fast left-right hander before it goes into the curvy bits...manage to do it full throttle and so happy about it, but then fu** always brake too late for this sharp right-hand turn crossing the bridge...back into the pits...new car...again...
No idea how you can do a 3:13 or 3:14 there 203

Sorry about the fuck up in race 3...hit the guard rail and lost it completely. Seems I've taken a few car with me :-(
Edit: A sorry to Joe and Guybrush as well...wasn't even aware of the incident with Guybrush. Ran out of fuel in race one...shifted very early during the last lap, but still didn't make it. It was a bad night, but fun racing. The track was great. 205

I noticed the car was turning in a lot better, but th rear end was a bit nervous. However, good to have it...hope I can learn a bit from it when taking a closer look...again, mine is very different. Thanks again for your help...and to Guybrush as well. The races went well for me. Would have never though I could finish both of them...a bit slowish, but consistent with a bit of luck. Freezer, watched the replay on the incident with you...yeah, I did move away from you, but not fast enough. Cheers 208

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: S28R3: Spa 1966« on: May 18, 2019, 09:38:08 PM »Fair enough...just an idea :-) Hopefully it will work out all right and we manage staying on the black bits.Yeah, at these speeds a crash is pretty much the end of the race...Wally, what about 4 x 4 lap sprint races...to reduce waiting time for the next race ;-)I don't think any particular track deserves more or less penalties. The 30 kg ballast is designed to be roughly a 10 second penalty on your overall race (these cars are not very heavy). If you have an incident, it already impacts that race, and after you do the next race with ballast, you could well finish further down the order which then impacts your starting position for the next race. So I think that's penalty enough. 210

Kidding, that would probably just increase carnage...haha Btw penalties could be increased on this one as well. That's just because risky moves will likely have a different impact than on a normal race track...just an idea...may suffer from that myself... Wally, you may have tried it before, but for me as a bit of a noob it would make sense to have penalties, which really have a significant impact on the receiver. I mean the consequences of a risky move in real racing can be very significant of course...there's life at risk, shitloads of money, time and effort. There's all this effort and money going into trying to make sim racing as real as possible. It would be interesting to know what happens behind the scenes when one of these young drivers in whatever real racing series does something stupid. I believe team managers have very serious discussions with race drivers in general and especially in case things went wrong. We're getting away with stupid moves rather lightly...a voluntary 'sorry' and 30kg :-) Again, I'm not criticising the system...just a spontaneous thought...not too much experience here with me as said before. |
