Title: Temporary Absence
Post by: Bacchulum on January 05, 2017, 12:41:26 PM
Hey guys, my PC has some issues atm so I can't go online.
Hopefully I'll be back soon but until then I'll be unavailable. :(

Don't tell me Bacculum is going to miss a race. Think of that stats spreadsheet and get in an IT engineer!  ;D

Good luck hunting the gremlin. It's not easy, I know. Maybe an entire Windows reinstall might be in order.

that is bad luck and bl**dy inconvenient.
There is always step one: (with the power off), loosen everything and refit, firmly, in place.

often memory contacts get a little crappy/loose, the heat up and expand so often.

and of course, as mentioned above ^^ reinstall Windoze.
Hope you fix it soon.

It is almost certainly not this but once or twice I have had to set max CPU frequency in power options to 99%
Go figure but with out the change, CPU usage would stay at 100% with the fans blasting and yet the PC was idling.  Change the setting and in realtime you could see The CPU throttle down to sensible levels and hear the fans spin down.

I'd be looking at my temps, and if they're high, the cooling, and the bios.
and the HDD. if it's not solid state , I'd defrag and dskchk it.
I'd also try swapping the sata cables around before looking at a window reinstall

I don't wanna jump the gun and say it's all cool, but I will need TS rights again Wally. ;)

Disc reformat.
That sounds simple. ::)
But every hurdle possible was thrown at us, it's still not 100% but AC seems to be running smooth.
That's all I care about right now. :-X

As Im in a temporary absence, I figured id jump into this thread too.  ;)

My Canada US roadtrip is in Fernie BC atm and we had the day off hoping for some good snow tomorrow. Seems this has worked out fairly well and here is a little video I made earlier today.

Next we are back to the US through Montana to Idaho and after too much sun for the first part of the trip its looking great for the next week or 2 here in terms of fresh snow.

Its been snowing pretty heavy all day since then so should be a bit of fun in the morning.

Hey guys hope your all good and the servers have survived the latest update.  ???

Currently I just got to Salt lake city which is our second last stop before heading home. We had a bit of a close call on the road today with a near head on but it wasnt us on the wrong side this time. The comments after are in true Aussie spirit so make sure you have the sound on.

I will post some pics up here later but having troubles uploading them to mediafire for some odd reason.

How many souls in that car? ???

Were 4 in the car, was just lucky to be that section of road as most other sections had snowbanks to the edge which would have given us no chance to avoid the oncoming car. It was good to see the truck driver at least noticed the issue and also move to the emergancy lane a bit to leave a bit more room for all 3 cars.
