Hardware & Reviews / Re: Nvidia 3080 - 80% better performance than 2080
« on: December 10, 2020, 10:20:59 AM »
I'm not convinced yet either , Dan Suzuki  did a you tube clip on them running with triples to test them out and the gains were highly disappointing .The games  he tested seemed to be more cpu limited than GPU limited so the 30 series gains were pretty much non existent over the 2080ti in ACC .  I'll try find the clip and link it here.

Lets hope the new AMD cards are more gaming focused and lead to better results , crosses fingers.

Hmm, I'm running a plain 2080 on 1k triples and ACC looks great...can't complain about performance issues.

Hardware & Reviews / Re: New Fanatec wheel for real GT3 car

It's awesome. A pity you need a Fanatec base for it. I doubt you'll get it for less that 1k.

Is the new Merc and Ferrari available as well?

Whoohoo!!!  ;D
We all know who's been the fastest. I don't know about you guys, but my memory is bad enough to forget about this little irrelevancy pretty quickly ;)
Didn't get a clean qualy lap in, but was lucky enough to just make it on pole.
Well, the rest went as we've seen it many times before. There's so much at stake that I was probably a bit too nervous to do some really clean laps...little mistakes here and there...struggled more keeping Joe behind me than keeping up with Bueller.

Congrats to Brad...great to see someone else on top for a change.

Cheers

Fortune Telling
Funny...typical fortune telling...says a lot, but really nothing. Who's winning then?  :) Better download this track and do some laps...
I think you'll enjoy going up the long sequence of esses in the ute and than arriving out of control at the blind left hander.
Ok, see if that makes sense once I'm on track...sure we raced it before, but I can't remember. You've got a tip on how to win this as well?  ;)

Here another way to get cues about grip when accelerating and braking...it's cheap too. A mate of mine has done that, I tried it a few times and I really like it. It's definitely on my to do list...I'm just a bit lazy atm.

Yeah, gotta admit, Bueller was faster than me this time...pulled away slowly  ;)
It's a nice track. Joe somewhat close behind me pretty much all through the race.
Cheers

It's got nothing to do with this Fanatec USB conversion, but it's a solution for my lack of buttons issue.
So I just got a different wheel, which I actually like a lot more anyway. It's done by SSRG.
The labeling is customized and will be slightly different.

A mate of mine has just recently checked out the PIMAX 5k...and was disappointed. I think distortions and comfort are the main issues.
Just stumbled over this one here:

It's apparently a lot better.

Should be fun. Another suggestion...how about more recent DTM's. They're quite a bit faster than GT3's  :)

Well, a pretty average start for me...again...lost a position...again. Turn 3 (this shortcut turn) was a pita because this massive A-column in the ute is so big. So for me it was pretty much guessing my line there...worked sometimes...and sometimes not so well. Was it as bad using VR or in the Ford?
When doing my first couple of laps after downloading this track late in the afternoon yesterday I thought 'What the heck!', changed camera view for the first time to what seemed like roof view just in order to see where I'm actually going. Yeah, changed back because I thought that's like cheating...still better driving blindly...haha.
Bueller was in his own league...yeah, can't really say much more about that...must be car of course ;). No, Bueller, don't prove me wrong :)
This track is certainly challenging, but on the other hand I found it a bit boring actually...doesn't make much sense I guess. Gotta take them as they come of course...all good.
Just judging by the track map the next one looks like fun.
Cheers

Sorry guys for my no show,i fell asleep on the couch and  indeed i tried to crawl to the PC but ,,ye....i was too tired.

But i read the saga between Joe and  Killa....WOW!!!   I loved it!!!   C`mon Killa,,,,,,,see you next tuesday!!!!!!!  do not be silly!!!  And you Joe,,,,,you are a HERO for many of us here at XGN :-* :-* :-*

LOLOLOLOL

Great it was entertaining...haha.
Yeah, it all looks a bit different with some distance. Don't wanna say anything about the actual incident, but what I'm now annoyed the most about is how crappy I handled this, i.e. that Freezer (luckily nothing happened there when I pushed him around the track) and especially Brad had to suffer from this..this attempt to overtake Brad was really sh.... I gotta learn how to deal with situations like that...or quit earlier ;)
