I found mediums where ok to 13 or so laps for me on Silverstone... then started to go quickly... for the 20lap I went to hards and they were perfect... plus was only .200 off my PB... But I felt I was still getting quicker and quicker on Silverstone...

Monza was just so frustrating as it was so unforgiving on mistakes...  :'(

But yeah happy days... I loved the GRA until I was relegated to DTM, but now I've really warmed to the DTM...  ;D

I went hards in both races in the DTM at Silverstone and the tyres were fine all race and only about .5 slower then the softs there. Mediums didnt last much better then softs.

Looking at the RSR times the difference is a little less at Nurburgring, 3 seconds between the cars. At Silverstone it was 2 seconds (also much shorter lap) but Monza was 4 seconds so that was probably the track with the biggest gap between them. Nurburgring should be a bit more fun and on the hard DTM vs Medium grpa in Race it may be a bit closer so I think the group A's will have more of a fighting chance this time.

Gentlemen, Marty,

I imagine the more twisty the track the quicker tires will wear? So Nurburgring will chew the mediums up quicker?
I also think the DTM advantage will be a lot less due to the twisty bits.

The time difference between both cars at WR pace is about 4 seconds. So naturally, after 10 laps in a 'perfect lap race' you could be 40 seconds in front.. I hope I did the math right.
Also less twisty bits means less chance of getting something wrong. so Monza really amplified any advantage the DTMs had.

I'm sorry you just missed out on the DTM Marty!

Yep you did the arithmetic right, and some of these dudes will do 10 laps consistently and will be 40 seconds in front of the like of thee and me :P

Can I suggest if anyone wants to practice they use the practice server... the more the merrier!  Might be good to exchange tips, etc. as well.  Not the tip you're thinking Dick.

I will get on the practice server tonight as it will be my only chance assuming I make it back in time for the race, how is Achilles heel budget regarding getting charter flights for drivers to make it back in time. Maybe I will just need a helicopter ride from the Tullamarine airport on Tuesday night. It is one of my Favourite tracks but have never driven this car there.

I actually just double checked my flight and lands in Melbourne at 7:30pm and Im about 45 min to 1 hr from the airport so dont like my chances. I may need to give the round a miss and let a reserve drive for Achilles heel this week. Maybe we could put Darren in on a trial basis for the week.
