Yeah. Based on Aiman's ping last night warping has nothing to do with ping size. He passed me a couple of times without any hint of stutter or warp. So it is weird that it only impacts certain people who have a range of pings - I've seen people with low pings warping all over the place.

Yes please.

"You spend most of the bends just blipping the throttle and waiting for it to grip up, then hit it on the straights." - Freezer, you just summed up the whole night for me!! Except for the spins of course. It's a great track though.

I was much happier with the Cobra this week. Seemed to not overdrive the thing! But had the brake balance wrong so was braking much too early. Bird has corrected us on that so will be interesting to test at Spa.

Suzuka is very technical - difficult mixed radius corners, Dunlop is easy to mangle and the 'S' Curves are all throttle control. 5  laps was tough on the concentration and nerves!

Thanks Flattop for another great night!

Hate to bring up the racing but what is the target lap time? I have been off the pace in the Cobra a lot since missing too many rounds this series :(

Are you talking about Suzuka? If so, download the section.ini file to give you the corner names. That helps a lot to orient yourself on the track. A lot of the corner names at Suzuka are famous names since it is an old circuit used for a lot of F1.

What Bird said is especially true of Suzuka. You should watch the F1 guys nurse their cars around the long corners. They cannot use much of the throttle at all - they have no traction control and "too much" torque low down.

Would this also cover the Ford V8 Supercar or is that a separate license deal?

Mod Tracks / REAL TRACK - Automotodrom Brno - Rating
« on: October 29, 2014, 05:05:51 PM »
Developed from scratch by Sneer: "I've started this track back in 2006 for rf1 from scratch (it has never been release in public). I have reopened the project in 2013 for a game called "dolphin's racer". Now I've ported the latest version to AC. The visuals are noticeable lowpoly in some areas, but I have reworked the road-collisionmodel and some materials for AC."

Only has 18 startpos & pits.

I've included this for completeness and this is actually a good track. However, not ready for league races and there are issues regarding whether or not it will ever get updated due to another version rumoured to be under development.

Mod Tracks / REAL TRACK - Salzburgring - Rating
« on: October 29, 2014, 04:27:38 PM »
Original authors: Com8 and Steppenwolf, converted for AC by Alexander Kholodkevich.

The Salzburgring is a 4.225 kilometres (2.63 mi) motorsport race track in Austria, east of Salzburg.

History
The race track was first opened in 1968. Lying in a narrow, alpine valley, it has a rather simple layout, with two long straights plus the sweeping and fast "Fahrerlagerkurve" ("paddock turn") at the bottom, and the narrow "Nockstein-Kehre" on the top. In spite of its simple layout, it garnered a fearsome reputation for the high speeds reached on the straights and the "Fahrerlagerkurve". Michael Doohan describes the section between 7 and 10 as his all time favorite piece of racetrack, likening it to "threading a motorcycle through the eye of a needle at 180mph whilst banging fairings with your competitors with armco barriers on each side". He continues "Sure it was fast and dangerous, but also enormous fun. To me it's what motorcycle racing is all about".

I think everyone who has tried this circuit likes it. Well worth a league slot! We ran some Cobra races here already and seemed to handle that OK. I still have nightmares of trying to drive one of the open wheelers in the wet in Netkar :(

Built from scratch by Harry Muhammad who also built Sentul.

The Lippo Village Street Circuit (Lippo Village International Formula Circuit) is a temporary street circuit in Lippo Village, Tangerang, Indonesia. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the track was planned to be made by modifying parts of the village near the Pelita Harapan University and includes the Supermal. It is located at the centre of Lippo Village's hub. The track failed to meet completion deadlines for A1GP in 2008/09 and the track was not homologated by the FIA. the track was used for some local racing events, but has since fell out of use. The pits and the track sign remained to this day.

This track is well worth a trial since we don't have any street circuits in AC and this is a good track - really tricky to drive!

Mod Tracks / REAL TRACK - Sentul International Circuit - Rating

Built from scratch by Harry Muhammad who also built Lippo Village Street Circuit.

Sentul International Circuit is a permanent motor racing circuit located in Babakan Madang, Bogor, Indonesia. The current circuit, shortened by 40 percent compared to the original design, is predominantly used for motorcycle racing and the Asian F3 series. Sentul is a relatively simple, smooth, broad track with large runoff areas, enabling non-bumpy and smooth driving at racing speeds.

This track grows on you. Due to it's fast wide layout I reckon it would produce some really good racing.
