Just started using the last week... still unsure if I notice a difference... will share my settings when I get home tonight  ;D
You can set it to be fairly suttle OR quite eratic.
I ended up setting all the smoothing options to high with just a modest amount of lean/turn which seems to work pretty well.

Assetto Corsa / Re: A little graphical tweak: reduce fog

It seems the fog is pretty heavy-handed in AC. A lot of the distant hills like at Mugello end up just looking like green silhouettes. You can edit C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg\weather1.ini to change this line:

BLEND=5

to

BLEND=1.2

This shows a little detail in the distant hills, and I reckon it looks better, on tracks like Mugello and Magione and so on.
Looked at the file in mine and it says it should be between 0 and 1.  It was set at .82.

Hi Wally, I adopted some of your roll/pitch settings and reduced my look left/right to get what I think looks good, the head lean combined with a modest look to the apex.   Definitely a good improvement to the game...

Heard Bacchulum mention this after the Nissan race so had to have a look.

You have to do a bit of tweaking, mainly in the area of smoothing out the motion and in my case I kept it to a more subtle shift from left to right and increased the deadzone to stop small wheel movements from shifting your view.   I think it makes a good improvement as it allows you to look through the corner more and pick your line rather than just looking directly forward.
There are some Youtube links of guys drifting whilst looking almost completely out the side window.

Worth a look... although maybe not so much for the triple screen guys.

Sorry for the now show last night, would have liked to have a run in this one.
Lucky for me my new Graphics card turned up yesterday.  (plus I got a new TV, so there was a lot of IT work happening in the house).
New card is excellent, cranked all settings to max (previously only mid due to performance) and things are now very pretty and super smooth.
Should take half a second off my lap times...!!   ;D

Nice. The extra smoothness will help for sure. What card did you get?

Not sure it will be to high.  Current Dev Kit 2 is as follows:

Minimum Requirements
A computer running a Windows 7 or Windows 8, Mac OS 10.8 or higher, or Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating system, 2 USB ports (at least one powered), and a DVI-D or HDMI graphics output.

Recommended Specifications
A desktop computer running a dedicated graphics card with DVI-D or HDMI graphics output, with capability of running current generation 3D games at 1080p resolution at 75fps or higher.

Well thanks for the feedback.
I'm kind of leaning toward the single large 4K as it would be cheaper than purchasing 3 standard screens and no risk of set up issues.
I also do graphic/web site work in in general use the big 4k would be pretty nice.   I would like the peripheral vision 3 screens give but it would probably only apply to racing.  There is also the option of adding a Occulus Rift down the track once they get up to speed to get that peripheral view in racing.
Still weighing it up before commiting . . .  :-\

Assetto Corsa / 4K vs Triple Screen
« on: December 28, 2014, 06:07:05 PM »
I have been toying with the idea of three screens for some time but desk top real estate is a bit restricted.  Then there is is the cost of two extra screens and ensuring the GPU will run them.  I have ordered a GTX 970 4G gaming as an upgrade.

But, I am now looking at Samsung LU28D590DS/XY 28" Ultra HD LED Monitor 3840*2160 for $550 (well reviewed).  This will be bigger than my current 23inch and far greater image quality, but will also require a decent GPU.

Anyone already using a big 4K screen?

Here is an interesting little mod that tweaks the graphics settings in AC.
http://www.virtualr.net/inanimate-carbon-mod-ac-released

It basically takes out some of the harshness of the graphic settings and for me gives a more realistic look.
Here are some screen shots from my PC.  Bear in mind it runs a modest graphics card with most of the AC settings set at mid range and then I have downsized these .jpg's as well.

Note:  When installing there are 4 files in System | CFG that you may want to back up before over writing in case you want to restore things, the rest are all additional files.

R1  Qualified in 11th, but as has been the pattern this season my race pace has been a bit better than qualifiying and after the jump I was soon up three spots and chasing down people.  Unfortunately a couple of laps in some others had an incident which I almost avoided just getting a small tap on the way through but it put me into a tank slapper and I was around. I dropped lots of spots and in pushing I later had another spin off a kerb and ended up coming home 18th which was a bit of a shame.
R2  Much improved qualifying saw me in about 5th.  I spent most of the race in this spot chasing Mathew and Bacculum running all the way to lap 16 on hards and had good pace at the end of that stint.  I crept up to 1st as everyone pitted and as always the pit stop was a bit slow and I came out back in my 6th spot.  Now on mediums I was able to grab Phil on the last lap to finish 5th.  Aside from one wobble mid race this was a much better race.
I was quietly hoping to jump Wally in the overall standings but a dodgy race 1 put paid to that idea...!
Well done to Guy on the overall and thanks to Wally for putting on yet another excellent season.

Merry Christmas to all.......

Now that I think of it You should be able to upload it to XGN, which would be best of course.
Surely it should be auto updating via Steam . . . .   :) :) :)
