Setup in the drop box.  Probably still needs some work.  Could have gone with a lower downforce setup, but taking some of the medium-high speed turns so quick in this thing is too much fun.

Hey, Wally you might want to to change the race laps info in the main sticky for this season.

Wally you may also want to add a password to the server, also probably good to put tyre blankets on as the graining bug is a bugger.

Just started a race and grained rears to 50 before t1 due to wheelspin, if your tyres are cold and get any wheel spin they grain. More slip more grain and my start was 50% throttle at 70% boost. With graining at that level its as bad as if you lost a rear wing and a pretty huge bug that Kunos hopefully fix at some point.

will tyre blankets make a difference in the race though?  If you are sitting on the grid the temps seem to drop fairly quickly.

Wont fix the bug but helps, however tyre blankets are quite buggy too and dont always work. Pretty easy to see how bad this bug is turn on the physics app and watch graining off the line or even if you go for pace straight out of the pits. Any time there is tyre slip and temps are under the optimum range they grain and in these off the line are easily the worst cars.

Knowing this you can just go very slowlyboff the line but we all know how that story ends with a full field behind on the race start.

You're right, you cant do a start without losing at least 40% of grip to graining.

Maybe we should have a rolling start?

I can deal with a loose rear end, but there might be some who struggle to do a lap without spinning with what I would suggest is something like 95% rear grip after the first 2 corners ;)

I haven't noticed any grip weirdness on starts in ai races or in my own practice. Good to be aware of it though. Tricky car. We'll just do a normal start, although I will raise initial grip a little. Are you using softs? They seem to last a long distance.

Who's to say the graining behaviour is a bug?

I will enable tyre blankets on the server though.

Cool.  Tyre blankets would be more realistic anyway.

I've updated my setup.  Good for a 1.25.7 in qualifying trim.

I agree, I haven't noticed any difference.
But tyre warmers were used in this period of F1 (although they were rudimentary).

Are you practicing with damage enabled as this will only be an issue with damage on I assume. If you dont grain your rear tyres early they will be a few seconds a lap faster once they get to temp.
