I like it. You can lock the setups except for the gearing changes, or whatever you want to allow (fuel?). It's on the AC forums, and I think Marty knows how to do it.

Sounds great. So do we have 1 x 1 hour race or 2 races as indicated further down the first post?

Opps must have been a hardware issue or app :-*
That's what plagiarism can do, catch me out.

Right, next priority is a cockpit. Looks great Bruce.

Just a thought that maybe the Sierra DTM can replace the M235i **IF** we want to keep the cars "period correct".

In my own testing with the AI driving, the 190E Evo II does 54.4 around Barbagallo, the M3 E30 DTM does 54.5 and the Ford Sierra DTM (link at the bottom of this post) does 54.7.

The M235i does it in 57.4 which is a few seconds slower (although, again, this is with the AI driving), so this could be used as the "punishment" car for the faster drivers (pending further testing of course, just in case it was a fluke that the AI was so slow in my testing).

However, again, in the sake of possibly keeping it a bit more period correct, there is also the Vauxhall Cavalier BTCC '90 (which in my testing did a 55.3). In addition, there is also the Honda Civic SiR-II Group A '91 (Barbagallo in 56.0). I'm pretty sure all three of these mods were made by Malagoli, who does some fine work in my opinion.

Ford Sierra '82 (including DTM and Group A versions): http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/1987-ford-sierra-cosworth-rs500.4840/
Vauxhall Cavalier BTCC '90: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/1990-vauxhall-cavalier-btcc.8566/
Honda Civic SiR-II Group A '91: http://www.mediafire.com/download/12t3pto1ahpys0j/CivicEG_GRA_1.0_NoSkin.rar

Of course these would all require more testing to make sure everybody is happy with them and to make sure my AI testing was accurate.

ahh that would be good... nice to see you spotted the longer races. Maybe you need to give a Porsche driver a nudge when your organised.

AJ that is impressive testing, not too mention your knowledge of the cars and their history...
Looks like we need to use some of your suggestions, will get to update the initial suggestion and then hand on to Phil again...
BIG thanks.

this looks like a lot of fun and would be a good excuse to learn how to play this sim after nearly a decade of rfactor. Just one question on the downloads - are those tracks which don't have links already in the game or are they located elsewhere on this forum?
cheers,

Yes I will update when I have time over the weekend.
Bruce we might have to make the march 15 round a fun run as I will be at the F1 in Melbourne.
I can just set the server up before I leave or Gratulin and Wally have access, And I can give you access if you want.

I'd like to make the following suggestions for the testing rounds:

Castle Hill: http://www.virtualr.net/castle-hill-for-assetto-corsa-released
Bridgehampton: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/bridgehampton-race-circuit.6604/
Snetterton 200: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/snetterton-2011.7327/

Although we only get a smaller turn out on Thursdays, I thought I'd just mention that Snetterton only has 19 pitboxes. If we do get a bigger turn out we could change it out for Oschersleben: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/oschersleben.4549/

Do BTCC cars belong in this mix? We ran the Nissan Primera BTCC 1999 a while back and it was pretty good. There is a new version on the way that might be ready before the season starts.

http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/1999-nissan-primera-btcc.95172/ (http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/1999-nissan-primera-btcc.95172/)

SCRATCH THIS. SOUND IS STILL BROKEN

Edit: Sound is fixed and Mod is really good but too fast for this mix.

Sorry to be a pest, I missed last week as I thought it was starting on the 10th, never mind....As someone new to this game, can you please share where I should look to paste the tracks/mods into in the game - I'm running the standard setup via steam.
cheers,

Title: Re: Season 3 "Stretch Those Legs"
Post by: Gratulin on March 09, 2016, 08:42:50 PM
Go into assettocorsa folder in steam common apps and then into content folder. Inside the 'content' folder there is a 'tracks' folder and a 'cars' folder. Make sure you uncompress the folder for each track and car into its own folder inside those folders. If in doubt take a look at the existing folders. That will give you a pointer.

RD being real slow still only 18% downloaded of that car so I will just give it a miss, shame as I like the longer races but have fun anyway guys. I will try jump in another nite if I am free but will make sure I check the threads and get content during the week if needed as for some reason RD downloads are only slow on race nites.

I can give you a quick D/L :)
I'm uploading it to S3, give me 2 minutes.
It's only ~110MB so with a multi-threaded downloader you should get it in no time.

Edit: more like 5 mins...the upload speed is not great at the moment.  It'd be good to have some multi-threaded direct transfer method :)

Hi all, thanks for last week, apologies about not having TS working so you could all abuse me for getting in the way - After racing rfactor for the best part of 10 years, it's been a rather slow adjustment to something new - pitstops were crazy different! I will need to search for the TS access codes as I could access the XGN server, but couldn't access the A/S section - I don't think I impeded anyone, but apologies if I did. I recall some good side by side stuff and the odd love tap, so it's all good. One thing I did wonder, was is there a tab option where it can show who's driving what car as you circulate like rfc and if so, where do I turn this feature on?
cheers,
bradc

If you get on TS tonight and poke an ADMIN someone should be able to get you into the AC race section.
