Title: A utility: AC HUD Switcher
Post by: Wally on June 11, 2014, 10:12:27 AM
I have written a little program which allows you to save different HUDs (i.e different app configurations) for Practice mode, Challenge mode and Race mode. It allows you to display different apps for different game modes. For example, you might only want your best and last lap displayed in Challenge mode, or your race position in Race mode only.

You can read about it and download it HERE (http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/hud-switcher.11123/).

Very nice.
It even remembers the position, so you can have the same app in diferent places for prac or race. ;)

Looks good Wally, I'll have to give it a try.

Seeing as you must understand the programming side of it all, would it be possible to have the "Delta" time app set against your all-time personal best and not just the session personal best?

That would be a new app. It all depends on whether an app can read your PB.

This will come in handy, my HUD kept clearing for some reason on sessions and I had to manually add my apps again. Thanks Wally!

try it; I had the same issue (hud clearing) but sadly it did not re-build it for me :(

Hmm, that's no good then :( What's the go with the hud going bonkers after this last update?

I've noticed the issue for as long as I can remember.  It only seems to happen when something out of the ordinary occurs.  For last night I think it was the server error message I got when I forgot to enter the password.

I know it's been a long time but does this app still work (with the latest version)?
I'd like to test it but with my recent issues I'm reticent.
If I'm going to start using the 'wings app' I'll need to switch something off for race night (just to see). ;)

It should work, but I haven't used it myself in a long time. But in theory, I reckon it should still work.

I did not even know this existed. Sounds really really useful. Wally is a real genius. If he also manages to keep the apps where they are after you swap resolution around for replays, I should ask him to marry me.

The secret is the acos.ini file under Documents...
That holds the app positions. If you take a copy of that file before you change your resolution, then put it back afterwards, you will restore your apps.

Shall we set a date? :)

Does your app do that automatically?

No. It maybe could, with a change.
