Title: Car Mod: GP2 Season 2014
Post by: Gratulin on July 13, 2014, 11:06:26 AM
This mod is fantastic IMHO. I'd be interested to see what others think of the physics in this car. Seems to be very "original". Great fun to drive for me. I did only a 1:47.xxx around Silverstone (after about 5 laps in it) while the fast guys in the topic are doing 1:36s I think. So I'm not sure how difficult this is when you drive closer to the edge.

Gave this a spin for a little bit and it's quite good.  The braking doesn't feel quite right - very sensitive and not much feedback through the FFB.

Here is a hotlap of Silverstone (current WR):

Really nice mod and I didn't expect this type of quality so quickly but this car is very fun to drive, nice find.

BTW a user posted their track on the AC forums that's worth checking out, fun little track with some well thought out corners.

Version 1.2 has been released:
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/fc2-2014.4653/ (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/fc2-2014.4653/)
The name has changed to FC2 but it's the same thing.
And the quality is better than ever. 8)

What would be a good track to try this out on?

EDIT: Of course it has to be Paul Ricard HTTT! That's what it is built for ;)

Any full sized GP track, nothing too small or tight.
Something like a Spa, Suzuka or Silverstone. ;)

Suzuka would be good but there seems to be confusion about versions and rips etc.

If the physics are the same as before things went off the radar then they weren't very good.  Apparently the guy doesn't do physics either that is continuing with it.

I will be very interested in what you think of this version. To me it seems a lot closer to Kunos quality of feel. Need to turn down the ffb gain to about 45% though. I'm managing about the same time as in the Lotus Exos 125 we used the other night. That is on default setup.

BTW I put up the combo on "AUS XGN Combo Tester". I'll add the Exos to compare.

Feels OK to me.
A handfull on cold tyres but hooks up nice after 3 or so laps.
Realistic from what I've heard. :-\

What was so bad Guybrush?
