Again, didn't have time to prepare so I went for the good old Carrera S. At the start I thought Wally (in front next to me) shouldn't be a problem as his GT4 gets off the line like a snail...haha...yeah, and that's how it went. It was hard work keeping all these yellow GT4's behind me, but some good close racing. Think we even went with 3 cars side by side through a couple of turns. There are some really nice fast turns there at Magione...was great fun going through there with some slight oversteer.
Love this Carrera S. However, would have been nice getting into the faster cars as well.

It's a tricky concept...not an easy task getting it right. Differences in the performance of the cars can be very big...and that means close battles for position are reduced. How can I race a driver in a Carrera R driving a Carrera S myself? It doesn't work. It will level the overall standings, but you need a large field so everyone has someone to race with.
Guess nothing gets more close racing than a one make with ballast/restrictor for the guys in the lead or winning races.
However, keep in mind I haven't done this for long so I'm content with doing just this normal racing. I can understand that if you've done this for a long time something like the car dealer is more interesting.
I'll go along with what you're coming up with. Don't really have an opinion on race cars vs road cars.
As I don't always have enough time to prepare, it's handy for me to race just one car for a while where you can use a setup and maybe just tweak it slightly.

Correct.I believe I could have, but I missed 2 rounds, so I'm still at the start.
So what's the current exchange rate AU$ vs cardealer$ ?
A pity, I'm a few hundred $ short of getting into a Carrera R.

I could have purchased the Cayman as well, but as I didn't have time to to prepare I went for the Carrera S again. At least I've got a setup for this one.
It's a great car. Turns in very well and oversteer is nicely controllable.
So, considering I had just this one our of practise before the race I'm pretty happy with the way it went. Good to be faster than Wally for a change :-)

I've done a few laps in the Carrera S and the Cayman GT4 last night and figured I'm way behind the faster cars.I crashed into nobody and I still can only afford a Carrera S or a Cayman Gt4. And I even tried to keep driving the normal cayman for two rounds to "make" some money. I am not sure I see what is demoralising you.
Hm, ok, I thought the wrecked car prevents me from getting a faster one at Monza just because my overall performance last Tuesday was rather poor. If that's not the case I must have simply misjudged the situation.

It seems this concept can be pretty tricky. I lost a race and a car last Tuesday because of the incident with Mael. I don't see myself at fault at all. So writing off race two, then start from the back in race 3 would be punishment enough I'd think. However, this thing pretty much writes off 3 races the following week on top of that...just for being in the way of someone. This is not about nagging at Mael...I'm over this, no probs at all. I fucked up Able's race myself after that...things can go wrong...that's just the nature of racing.
In this particular case in a proper competitive season it can be pretty demoralising though...5 races messed up because of someone else's mistake.
Just an opinion. I understand this is all about testing this out.

...ok Able, watched it, no idea why I moved suddenly so far right. My apologies.
Otherwise there was some good close racing. Race 2 went just bad for me...expensive night.
Mael, I do take donations.

Really! Wasn't aware of that at all...sorry. The crewchief usually tells me and he's done it only once last night...strange....and I came in 2nd in race 3, not 3rd.You had lots and lots of cut warnings on the night. It seems to me that maybe you didn't have your PLP app visible. You received a 10 second penalty for excessive cutting in races 1 and 3.

It seems I'm going crazy...really thought I won the first race...and I thought I was on pole for race 2. Wally, you're sure that' right?
It was some fun racing with the boys happy to spend some money on a fast car
I haven't put any thought into this...just spent all the money I had (that will be my strategy going forward...easy), so I've got no idea how this may work out.
However, it was clear that some of the fast guys weren't really able to compensate for the lack of performance of their cars enough to mix up the field car-wise...at least I couldn't see it at the front end...all Carreras.
So it seems there will be smaller groups using the same car competing with each other... god knows who'll be on top at the end...most likely not me...haha.

I didn't really enjoy these cars. Too hard, too much throttle control needed. Give me a car where I can just mash the throttleYep, I'm 100% with you on the traction control thing. It was a great battle there at the end. It was my intention to leave you a gap at that left hand turn as I knew you were very close. Watched the video, but couldn't see if it was enough...maybe not quite...sorry.

Looks awesome. Four monitors? What do you have on that top monitor?Cheers mate. I use it for all my cheat sheets about how to set up a car...that's pretty handy. It's nice to have some spare pixels available for whatever software you use for setting up/adjusting gear.
