Made it home just in time for race 2 but at least I'd done about 12 laps before the race night. Got a good start but was stuck behind a mustang and got spun from behind. Had 2 more spins on my own it the race and left up the back......as usual. Race 3 was fun and had some good battles. Every time I thought I'd get away from the little battle, I'd have a little Abarth alongside me and comprimising my lines through the next corner. A couple of very soft spins and I was back to my usual spot at the back of the field.

I struggled to find a balance in the M1 and found it seemed to respond best to being gently flowed from corner to corner. A little too much steering or throttle would see the back stepping way out there. Was great under brakes though.

Thanks Wally and everyone for the season and bring on the next one.

Maybe a Formula Abarth or Renault 3.5 season. Whatever we run, I'm happy

I had fun and it was nice to be somewhere near the midfield pace. I made a few tweaks to the graphics to up the framerate and it seemed to work OK. It was a great battle and I could slowly reel you in bwfore making a mistake and seeing you disappear ahead again.

by far one of my better rounds

I've had to turn down a lot on my system but have just installed the rx580 and will see how it goes. I will test running the screen from a basic secondary card to take some more load off the main card. I have an old card floating around somewhere. the system may get a bit hot with the 380 and 580 in it

Was hovering around 45 fps on low to med settings so need to do something. Looking at upgrades now and that should help.

Just got it sorted and I f*&^ing love it. I can see the apexes and after 10 laps have met me previous best times but a lot more consistent. Being that I am only running an R9 380, it gets a little dicey on fast changes of direction so a good used rx 580 might be on the cards. Might even find a second one down the track and crossfire them.

Its just a completely new experience and I can't wait to spend more time in the rig now

I got the rift on Thursday and only just set it up. The Occulus VR works fine but have only managed to run AC on the virtual desktop so far. Not what I was hoping for but will keep working on it.

Had a fun nights racing. Started and finished up the back as usual but had fun.

I had planned to choose the mustang for this round as the Alfa is not much fun to drive but didn't choose in time. Hopefully this'll also be my last race with a monitor unless I can't come to terms with the VR this week.

Thanks everyone and see you next week

Thanks Rooshooter.

I opted to get the occulus rift S. I figured the lower resolutions would be easier on my hardware giving me a little margin and the games that have the specific support built in will hopefully give better performance.

Thanks again and can't wait to get it and test it out.

I know this is covered a few times but just got a bonus from my boss for working obscene amount of hours in the last few weeks with instructions to buy myself a VR headset for my online racing. Since I only spend race nights in my sim usually I am looking at the value of getting the Occulus rift vs one of the cheaper headsets. If I get a cheaper headset, I can also get the wheel and shifter for my clubsport wheel project but I am reasonably happy with my TS300 GT for now except for the horrible brake pedal feel.

My budget at the moment is $750 and the only sims I use right now is AC and on the rare occasion, Kart Racing Pro.

Had a good night overall. I wasn't fast but was more consistent so a bit of progress is nice. Sorry to DaveO for race one. My cooler cut out and took the LCD with it for a few seconds.

Had some close battles and was clean racing so pretty happy. Anyone know where I can buy some lapspeed???

The turn 1 impacts are a bit hard to unravel. Bradc was turning in tight from the left of track, and moved too far to the inside of the corner. At the same time, RussG was under locked brakes on the inside and hit the side of Brad, and then on into ab156, spinning him. Because ab156 was so disadvantaged, a half fine of $150 goes to each of Brad (for not staying on his side of the track in turn 1) and Russ (for hitting Brad under locked brakes).

No locked brakes and I strongly debate who hit who. Just trying to mind my own business, watching other people and hoping to get through T1 without being hit.
JamieP was flashing down the inside, then I lost sight of him so I was leaving a little bit of space on the inside (in case he was there somewhere) and turning in from a shallow line so I was obviously going to run out a bit.
Some people just don't seem to have any respect at T1 and just try to barge through. But Ho humm, it's the same every race ...

Had a great start in race one but only had room on the extreme inside and seeing that there was no scenario that was going to end well trying to force myself into turn 1, I jumped on the brakes very early and limped myself around the very inside of the corner. Sadly I managed to gently clip he rear bar of a car coming around the outside so very sorry about that. The rest of the race was OK just slow.

Had another good start and a tidier effort and better line into turn 1. About 8 laps in I got a good run into the first sweeper and the car in front a not so good run and planned to use the run to move down the inside of the next one but I underestimated the closing speed and had to get hard on the anchors when I realised there was going to be a hit. I still had an impact and I am sorry, again, I ended up sliding across the track and into the wall. No deposit back for that car.

3rd race I just took it easy and worked on my lap consistancy. Was better, faster and third last instead of second last.

I'll be trying to have a much cleaner round next time out. On the plus side I was half a second or more faster in each race.

Checked the replay and I definitely went from 2nd to 1st and blew the engine on that last race. I'm 98% sure I put it in 3rd both times, so like Phil said I'll have to try and re-calibrate the h-shifter. Annoying though as had good pace this week.

I had the same issue in practice earlier in the week using the bodnar adaptor with the G27 shifter. Did a fresh calibration and no issues tonight. Not with the shifter anyway

Might even try to get the clubsport wheel and pedals set up but we'll see how motivated I can get.

How do you drive without them, or Joypad or something  ?

I have a few wheels now. I always had a Logitech DFGT as a backup but also have a T300 GT Edition, a G27 and of course the cheap Clubsport wheel and pedal I picked up. I have the motors to put in the wheel but haven't had the time. I'll keep the G27 as my backup now and sell off the T300 and DFGT. I may donate the DFGT if there is anyone around who wants to try out sim racing on a tight budget. Always found the wheel is OK but the pedals are crap

Finally managed to source a replacement graphics card and am keen for another run at the back of the field as usual if there's no objections. Might even try to get the clubsport wheel and pedals set up but we'll see how motivated I can get.
