Well , what a great start to the new season it was worth the wait. The cars and track combo proved to be just perfect and with Phil's handicapping it was anyones races to win. I was having a great three way battle in race 1 with Robin and Flattop with me in the lead until I got too excited watching Robin and Bruce beside me and forgot to change gears !! Race 2 reverse grid, I was sure Flattop had a win in the bag , there was noway they would have caught you Bruce without  a mistake on your part, maybe next week. I felt everybody had some good clean close racing.  ;D ;D

I have just watched both replays, race 1 was intense, no wonder I felt stuffed. I take my hat off to the winners no mean feat on their part.

That was a fun start to the season  :)  The handicap system worked well, it never felt like my pace was hindered by the restrictor. When Wally passed me it felt more like my poor corner exit was the reason, not the handicap. Although the first few laps of the reverse grid was a bit strange, I could not keep up with Bruce or Rooshooter!

Good fun. Sorry to Seanus for the second race. Poor line on the last turn around lap 3 and got a wheel on the curb and it spun me around into him. Some good racing with Bruce after that and I only got by once he made a mistake.

I found the restrictor interesting; I could still put in pretty good lap times if I had free track as I noticed I took most corners quicker than some people, but once I was in traffic I had no chance to pass unless somebody made a mistake. I'd get a good exit onto one of the straights and pull alongside someone only for them to pull away half way down the straight. I guess part of that is the track so will be interesting to see how it goes on other tracks.

I worked out to get a good exit out of Villenueve as the following straight into Tosa wasn't long enough for them to respond.
Then I had the best part of 3/4 of a lap to gap them before the pit straight. ;)

nice race report, it was fun, i was shattered at the end of race one, but recovered enough to get some early high concentration laps in and with some strength to hold it... great night.

It was head down, don't look back first laps for me, at one point I was on my good time and couldn't believe I was holding the gap, man it was fun.
