Is this good PC Build????
« on: February 10, 2018, 10:28:31 AM »
Hey Guys, I'm interested in your comments for a new build I'm going to do very soon...

What do you think? is it a good build or not?

Don't really want to spend anymore than what it is at the moment (about $1,500 all up)

Only games i play are - Battlefield 1 & Battlefield 4

CPU - i5-8400  - Coffelake 1151pin
M/B - B250M-D3H - Gigabyte
SSD HD - 500gb - Samsung EVO
GPU -   6G GTX 1060 MSI OC
RAM - 16GB Kit (8GBx2) 2133 - CORSAIR VENGENCE LPX
Case - VIEW 28 RGB - Thermaltake

I have bits from existing PC which I'm going to put in like CD Rom, 2 x 2Tb HHD etc

Cheers
Bishy

To me it seems pretty good,  its a shame video cards are so much now thanks to mining
For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals
Then something happenend which unleashed the power of our imagination, We learned to talk.

That cpu will need 300 series motherboard, only Z370 is available atm, this one here being one of the cheapest https://www.pccasegear.com/products/41450/msi-z370-a-pro-motherboard the mid range chipset boards, as in, H370 or whatever are not available yet. Otherwise nice build

you also need a case that supports optical drive (if you want), the view 28 does not

So i can use any of the Z370 boards? i will be shopping at MSY here in Adelaide and they have a large range of Z370 boards.

Hey Buellersdayoff - This so going to sound like a silly question, but what does the Optical Drive do on the case?

Yes, any of the z370 boards with a coffee lake cpu. Not sure when they'll be available, but the H370 boards will be cheaper.
You said you have a cd rom drive (optical drive) if you are going to use it then you need a bay/slot for it.
I've changed the ram I accidentally put 8gb in the list previously, it now has 16gb.
