Video Conversion Guru Needed
« on: September 22, 2016, 06:20:51 PM »
I have a .ISO 'disc image' of some old F5000 races but I haven't worked out how to see them yet.
I tried a free conversion app a while a go but all I got was the menu screen, while the audio went through the races. (radio only :()
I don't want to buy something just for one file, so I was wondering if there was anybody who could convert this file into something I could watch. ???
(plus I'm a bit stupid at these things)
Obviously, willing to share the results with everybody interested in F5000.
(please let there be one person who can help)

I'll have a go for you. I've got DaemonToolsPro so it should do the trick.

I'd suggest MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD (it's free) and it's what I use! Now if you have windows 10, disregard this post, as it's not supported. I think Daemon Tools Lite is free and supports Windows 10.

http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm

Once installed, just right click the MagicISO icon in your system tray, select->Virtual CD/DVD-Rom-> H: No Media -> Mount -> Select your ISO file and viola. Done  8)

If you've got audio and menus have you already mounted or did you use the converter on the iso itself?

Win8 and win10 will mount isos without any other tool. Just right click it and should be a mount option. Once mounted it will appear like a cd drive on your machine.

Playing the races will depend on the format. Could be single video files or something else but vlc player tackles most things.

I use Handbrake. As Joe mentioned you need VLC to also break the encryption if ISO is off a DVD. Handbrake works seamlessly with VLC. Just make sure you match 32bit or 64bit versions.

Cheers Slideways.
Here's the file:

I've tried myself and failed and terms like 'break the encryption' and 'mount isos' leave me less confident and confused. :-[

You just wanna watch it on your PC? I just downloaded it, it's just an ISO file of a DVD. Quality is pretty terrible mind :D

Are you running Win8/10? All I did was right-click the .ISO file and choose Mount which is the top menu for me in Win10. That will then give you what appears to be a new CD drive in explorer. For me is was D drive. From there I right-clicked that drive and chose Play with VLC media player.

If you don't have VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

I wanna watch in on the TV via USB.
And I'm still on Win7.

EDIT: I've had to but a space in the mp4 extension otherwise the forum was trying to insert a video player. Just take the space out.

You wouldn't believe how many times I've clicked refresh after watching the first race, just waiting for the rest. 8) :P
