bugger, they've done nothing to mp - well, apart form that bug. :(

yeah the biggest issue here is that you MUST nail those crucial corners, T1, then the other to the back straight, then of course the last one, too.
Btw I haven't driven a lap since last week...it's about time to pick it up (if you check my hotlap it was done 2 months ago!)

I've the fanatec H-shifter, which I've mounted on the wheel & calibrated now.  It's a first step, hey!  :)

As for the setup; why don't you just add everyone;  they can join during the qual can't they?  And well, if you can't join during a race, that's just that.

Prebooked is fine but then your still limited to those drivers and if new guys or reserves want to race then they cant, having an open session will allow larger fields to fill in for those pre booked but not starting. I will give the mod a try again and see if its working again.

I think you can put everyone - including reserves - on the list, and whoever joins, joins (up to the limit)

What do you want to train for, though?  Simple, honest cars are best for learning.  I wish we had a FF or something akin to the f1600 from nkp...those are the real learner's cars.

I had a good first race, good clean start, then people started dropping off, bit of battling here and there, but then I got into the rhythm and was just lapping as well as I could.   The result was good, though.

But the second!  Got into a bit of tap-tap due to the slightly lower gearing, people swamped me a bit and we were 3-wide.  Then I've mis-calculated the run to T3 while apologising to Wally and run into someone.  Terribly sorry about that.  Waited out my time on the side, and joined the end of the line.

I had some good little battles while fighting my way up.  Great clean fun!

Got back to some decent position, where Phil was acting as a massive wall.  We've tussled for a few laps, then finally I got a run up, then gave it back on the back straight (those DTMs have power, dammit!) then took it back again as Phil run wide at the end, then effed it up on the last corner royally.  I'm still fuming about that, it was a rookie mistake, just kept the throttle on when I should have just backed off a bit... Oh well.

Still, it was a hugely enjoyable race!

Thanks everyone you guys are all racing very nicely.

Should be either martcerv or Marty Cerven, I did add all in the xgn group as friends the other day which is probably the easiest way to do it.

Hi Marty!
Yeah I've got the group added. I'm not sure if groups show up in the friends time app? and also helps to know who's who on steam if we have different AC names.
I don't think groups show up, otherwise I'd have a LOT of people on it. :)

(I thought I put this here, there's no point starting a new thread for this)

So yesterday I've worked on my Formula Abarth rank a bit (it's a fantastic fun car I reckon) and, as you can see in my sig, got to single-digit ranks.  Even better, first page rank!  Mainly, I had to run a few missing circuits.  I was pretty happy with the result...then I've looked at the ranks and there's Marty sitting halfway up above me.

Now I'm pissed.  I'll have to work really hard to get up there....if I can, at all :)  I'll have to find 6 seconds!!

Here's the rank page;

Oh, hell yes, the throttle-during-braking :)  No I did not mean that.
Sorry if I did not express myself clearly; I mean as a general rule of thumb, avoid coasting.  It's all just lost time.
This is not my idea; it's basic racing know-how (afaik).

I do coast sometimes too, but rarely, it's basically error correction only.  I try not to do it, ever.
Usually you can apply a bit of throttle, and the car will turn better, rather than coasting. (Especially in these cars!)  Bit of throttle=not losing speed.
When you're coasting you're actually losing speed.  Especially in a corner.  You might as well brake later, trail brake, and apply throttle.

It all adds up!

Having said all that, we should look at telemetry results, especially from Darren, to learn how to drive quickly ;)

Gotcha, UB :)

Yeah I did not take you seriously at all - especially with all those smileys everywhere.

...in fact I don't think anyone takes you seriously, ever :D

I'll want one when we have proper damage and I'm crossing the s/f line engulfed in flames...
(those GTL days, hey!) :D
