I think the track's grip is set to a maximum of something quite low compared to others, that's why it's so slippery.
FRICTION=0.98

ah-ha, I thought this must have been the case.  Thanks for confirming.

Just tried the server.
Checksum failed.
I'm using v0.9.5 of Hungaroring (what the link links to). :(

And are we really going to still use Mosport after Thursday's test?!? :o
No Mosport.

Good call.
I love the track, layout-wise, but we can't have someone pitted on the bridge and it did put random people a lap down. :(

It might be useful to summarise the Cobra Cup Season showing the alignment of the track selection against the Formula 1 and V8Supercar calendars.

Cobra Cup Season 6

July 23th Hungaroring (Formula 1)
July 30th Spa (Formula 1)
August 20th Eastern Creek (V8Supercars)
September 17th Singapore (Formula 1)
September 24th Suzuka (Formula 1)
October 15th Sochi (Formula 1)
October 22th Surfers Paradise (V8Supercars)
October 29th Pukokohoe (V8Supercars)

The Singapore track is OK but it takes the Cobra almost 3 minutes a lap and rarely gets out of 1st gear. Perhaps we substitute Mexico for that week? AC has Mexico 1988 but we didn't use it this season since it is the same week as Pukokohe V8s.

There are F1 tracks for early next year - Australian GP, Chinese GP, Spanish GP, Monaco GP, Canadian GP, Austrian GP,  British GP. This makes almost a complete season.

I'd be up for Singapore.  We don't get to race street circuits very often, especially not in a Cobra! :)

Can you give it a try GB? If you think it will be ok then we can leave it in.

Will do Gratulin.  I'm booked in with the cricket for the rest of the night though and then off for work over the next couple of days so will be after that unless someone else wants to give it a good go.

Did some more practice in the Cobra last night and finally starting to get to grips with it. Think I did a low 2:07 and and not spinning off several times a lap  ;D

I've not driven many cars in this game due to joining the league just after buying it, and most of the ones I have driven have TC or aren't too much of a handful without. This is the first car I've driven that really requires delicate throttle control.

the last part is important for getting the thing around the track fast, heavy throttle control for added, but slower times, fun.
I have reduced the race to 15 laps, but everyone just let me know what you think is a better number.

Just remembered I have work offsite meeting/free bar on Thursday afternoon, so depending on how long the bar is free, I may miss this week's race.
