Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / New ingame pit app
« on: March 28, 2017, 10:30:27 PM »
Just thought Id give all a heads up regarding the new pit stop app, some guys in the ROOZ league had issues due to not being familiar with it and still using pitconfig which wont work unless you fully disable the new pit app. A few gys in the funrun tonight also had some troubles expecting pitconfig to work or being unsure of this new app. In practice give it a go and make a couple stops to avoid issues in the next league race with stops.

To use the app there is now a pit setup menu in the setup config, this is saved along with your setup.

You can set your strategy here regarding fuel, tyres to change. With tyres beware that the pressures will be default cold pressures so best to set this to your own start pressures otherwise when you change tyres they will give you the default pressures.

In car you can use your wheels dpad or arrow keys on the keyboard, here you can go up and down to select each line and left or right to enable disable a setting or add reduce fuel. Only in car have you also got an option to repair body,engine/gearbox/suspension, some cars have aero changes allowed in stops so keep an eye on this as it also starts at default. You have 3 pre-sets available but can change this with an ini file. \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg\pitstop.ini

If you want to use pitconfig instead you need to have USE_MOUSE_PITSTOP=1 and this should allow it to work. You wont be able to adjust pressures or aero in stops and pitconfig is no longer being worked on. Best to get used to the new method as its quite good but a bit different.

I think the multiclass run was quite fun this week, so was thinking of going multiclass again with the traditional WEC setup Porsche 919 and the GT2 and GTE cars.

I have picked Paul Ricard 24hr circuit as its a good test track, and it has 36 grid spots so it lets me put up a few of each car so most should be able to get the car they want. Currently its the version with chicane but if enough people request the no chicane this can easily be changed.

Races will be 2x 30 minutes with no forced stops with qualifying at 8:30 AEST of 10 minutes before race 1 and 15 minutes for race 2 if people want to change classes and run some more laps. Total race nite should be about 1 1/2 hours.

This race nite will be hosted on the practice server not Wally's regular race servers. There will be no MR auth on Tuesday night just the regular password but for people to get into the practice server they need a MR AB rating or to give me their GUID so I can add them to the XGN whitelist.

Content on the server is
Porsche 919 2015 (DLC Porsche pack 2)
BMW M3 GT2 (stock content)
Corvette c7 GTE (DLC Dreampack 1)
Ferrari 458 GTE (Stock Content)

Paul Ricard track from this link.
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/paul-ricard.6115/

The 919 has manual kers and also MGU-K modes adjustable in car or in pit. Best to bind a kers button and MGU-K to your wheel if you want to run this car. The in game gears app will show battery levels in the car and you need to learn to use this to your advantage for both a qualy lap and in race.

On the gears app you have a green bar on the right which shows the Kers energy remaining, the yellow bar shows kers energry remaining for the current lap which resets as you cross the line. The blue bar on the left shows kers energy being used, the MGU-K modes will use some battery and pressing kers button gives full battery power while pressed.

The MGU-K modes are
Low- gives more power at lower speed out of corners
High- gives more power at high rpm for some more top speed
Agressive- More power to front wheels, help power out and heats front tyres
Preserve- Less front power saves the tyres and a bit more battery
Hotlap- Uses more battery for a hotlap

Ideally you want to use a mode that doesnt use too much more power then it can generate per lap, then use the manual kers button to add boost when needed. Either for higher speed or to attack or defend, try to save battery for the entire lap especially the critical straights on a hotlap. In a race try not to use all battery as it will leave you a bit of a sitting duck against others that have some left especially at the end of the lap or end of the straight.

I found this link that shows all the skins at RD atm and links to the downloads by clicking the image.

I will go first dibs on the Martini livery from there as it looks cool.

http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/martini-maserati-granturismo-mc-gt4.11244/

Here are the skinpack downloads as of round 1 11/10/2016

This is the min resolution pack so all skins with 2k skin options have that in this pack, to install just move the content folder to your main AC install.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/uf2s5868vqc0vv8/Season_14_Skinpack__2k_max.rar

This pack also includes all cars but 3 of the skins are a higher resolution 4k skin.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/41y314sqzvy6pba/Season_14_Skinpack.rar

Either pack you can simply copy over the other and the skins will be either higher or lower res, the lower res one may be best for people on lower spec setups. The skins are also installed on the practice server and should be assigned to all the drivers when they join but if you dont have the skin pack then all cars with custom skins will likely just be plain white and rather boring.  :'(

Would make the daily grind more fun for many at least.  ;D

Hey all just putting this up incase for any reason there is an xgn member that cant get into the Tuesday practice server, it runs Minorating AB only filtering but also has a whitelist for all xgn people. When in this server minorating is always running so counting number of contacts and so will give you a rating that may be used at any other minorating server.

For info on what Minorating is and does check the website here http://www.minorating.com/ or the thread at the official forums for drivers here. http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/minorating-com-drivers-thread.25732/

It will show your rating as you join or at any point you can also type /mr in the server chat and it will give your current rating.
A new feature has also been added where you can view your own personal stats, in order to do this type while in any minorating server
/mr genpublicid
This create a unique user ID to your stats which you can then access by adding the ID number it gave you to this URL
http://www.minorating.com/DriverInfo?mrid=your MR Id

That user ID is valid for your account until you generate a new id with the same command, so if you want to keep up with your current MR stats bookmark that page and you can keep an eye on it.

The main reason minorating is running on the practice server is so it can remain open to people that wont be an issue to any league guys in the server wanting to do some practice. The server should always have the current round combo running and if you have any issues with the server let me know here or send me a pm.

Recently there was also an issue which I came across and Minolin just fixed where contact points were being counted x2 and so a few people may have had their minorating drop down recently. This has been fixed and if you join any MR server and run a lap your grade will be adjusted to what it should be.

Mod Tracks / Hockenheimring
« on: July 27, 2016, 04:06:54 PM »
Here is a version of this weeks GP track I have found.

https://tpongracz.wordpress.com/2015/08/31/hockenheimring-for-assetto-corsa-released/

Seems you need to download the track and then the surfaces update, I will put a server up with this and the 2015 ferrari f1 cars once I download it.

Mod Tracks / Real Track Hungaroring
« on: July 23, 2016, 11:34:50 AM »
Just looking for a reasonable rip version of this track  ;D found this link https://yadi.sk/d/S22tZHaCcVWKy

I will put up a server with current conditions and the f138 cars using todays forecast conditions and tyre compounds. I can add the 2015 cars if people want those but I am still reading the manual and the 138 is a much simpler car to get your head around. I am just downloading the track now and will check the DRS zones and adjust to current ones if the mod track doesnt have these.

I have put the server up and will update the weather soon as currently it was just random, I checked forecast and looks like a warm one next week with 29c and partly cloudy in Adelaide next Tuesday with no rain.

I had a few runs with some guy in the practice server, I am using the regular Zandvoort just to make it easier for public to jump in with official content if they are AB rated. Better league promotion too this way and with AB only drivers the driving standards in the server should never get too bad.

This will be a fun round, I have also put my setup in ptracker but its pretty much the same as last round with a slight pressure change. Once I raise the server temps though the pressures will likely need to be dropped down a bit. This is quite a challenging track to pass but it can be done at pretty much every corner, you just need to set it up fairly well and if someone ahead is running a good clean line you need to get fairly creative which is pretty fun.

I think the best defense is really running a normal racing line here as any time someone starts to defend the inside line they give away heaps on exit and they will quite likely be passed easily into the next corner if the guy behind sets up a better exit and run while making sure they keep the inside line.  ;)

Thanks to the help from Minolin he has managed to make minorating work in a way that I can run the practice server with a whitelist for all XGN drivers. Above this it can be open to public but with stricter grading which I will limit to AB grades only where it was also open to C grades and unrated drivers.

Any driver on the whitelist should be permitted into the server even if they arent rated A or B with minorating, the time spent on the server will still effect your minorating. This whitelist will also be in effect to all my "Marty's Aussie servers" so xgn registered drivers should have access to any of these no matter their rating.

For a trial on this fun run I may even run the server this way on the nite, This is assuming we arent expecting 24 or more people in the server. Most non official runs tend to only get 12 to 18 drivers so this way we may fill the server and AB rated drivers even if from OS with a higher ping should be not trouble to race with.

If anyone cant get into the server send me a pm and GUID and I will make sure to add you to the whitelist. I think I have all the people registered for the current season.

I got a voucher for some free games bundled with my CPU I dont really have any interest in, it must be redeemed by 2/15/16

CS Go, world of warships and Just cause 3 just say you want it here and I will pm you the code.

https://gamingbundle.intel.com/#/home

I have 2 of these bundles so even even though its unlikely I will play these games at least 1 I will give away to anyone that wants it.

Seems to still be issues with some of these tracks, when installing them not all tracks appear in Assetto Corsa Server Manager. In the download there is Spa, Silverstone, Nurburgring, Mugello, Monza, Brands Hatch, Barcelona and Imola.

In the server manager only Barcelona and Brands Hatch OSRW appear so there must still be something wrong with these files.

Assetto Corsa / Dirt Rally
« on: July 19, 2015, 10:09:16 AM »
I see ingame a few guys have this and Ive given it a bit of a go, still does some weirdness mostly low speed grip and weight shift seems a little slow. Also at times doing a scandinavian flick sometimes just understeers the car and fronts arent locked pressing handbrake doesnt make any difference there which is odd at times.

But overall its a fun rally game I think, some cars are more weird then others. Driving with shifter and clutch is a proper challenge. Even too much for me (missing way too many gears lol) Damage itself is very soft still, id like physical damage to be as brutal as reality where there is no driving away from a big rock hit and definatly not after nailing a tree.

Here is an onboard with ultra graphics at 1080/60 it looks real cool, I use the dash cam as the cockpit is a bit odd too. It looks real nice and runs great

My view on dirt Rally, way more fun then P cars which I dont really bother with much as AC just drives so much better. Dirt Rally, RBR was probably a bit better physics wise still but its easily the best since then and should get better.

Assetto Corsa / Friday Nite fun nite on my Public servers
« on: June 10, 2015, 02:05:22 PM »
Was chatting with some guys on ts last nite after the round about a fun nite in an easy car and track combo friday.

I havent decided which combo yet but think I will keep this on the pass server and if we get a few league guys along with a few regular server guys it will likely fill fairly easily still. It will keep out the new guys that may not be able to drive yet and make it less of a pain for me to need to admin. Also if a few are in the pass servers it may get more guys to set a time and get a pass for access to these servers.

I dont think I have needed to kick a single person from a pass server yet. Just the odd warning which normally gets people into line. GB's alternative lines and supermans may get him a ban at some point. ;D

Atm I am thinking ktm xbows for this week, not sure of the track but can say these are fricken awesome at Nords and short races of 2 laps there in this combi with a larger field would be pretty good fun.

Im open for suggestions and if any league guys dont have the password for my servers yet send me a pm and I will give it to you.

Edit just read back my post and the phone typos were pretty bad. I hope I fixed them all and not added any new typo's.

Mod Cars / International Fomula master by CTDP for AC
« on: April 22, 2015, 07:51:23 PM »
I just found this and am downloading it atm, they made some awesome stuff for rf back in the day so I would be surprised if this wasnt good.

http://www.ctdp.net/

A strive for realism

The International Formula Master (IFM) was a supporting series during the European WTCC races from 2007 till 2009. The series was subsequently retired. Several small independent teams have utilized, with success, the former IFM Tatuus cars for various Hill Climb Events and have entries in FIA's European Hill Climb Series.

Such physics,
very wow!

We got our hands on the original user manual of the Honda K20A engine and Tatuus chassis and had access to more real data as ever before. This helped in creating highly realistic physics for IFM 2009 so you can feel like a real race driver.

And bonus features!

The addon includes all cars of all teams and drivers, a setup guide, and detailed templates to create your own car livery.
