Hardware & Reviews / Re: Looking for a Fanatec Wheel

I have a p1 csl wheel I’d sell cheap.
I replaced it with the suede one above, it’s fine but some segments on the led screen come and go.

Hi Rolz, thought I'd dig this up from the dead, I have just got myself a second hand obutto revolution. Do you still have triple monitor arms, I know they're shoddy but I'd be looking to have a go at fixing them up to work! Happy to pay you decently for them

A mod idea for you bird.

I'm sure he's happy with a car that just drives. That 86 has done nothing it has claimed to.

Equal Length headers, overpipe and exhaust, panel filter and a lot of time on the dyno.
A good standard car will pull 100rwkw on that dyno.
The shorter gears really help give it some pep.

Good stuff, it's not far away then

280hp
4.556 final drive (instead of 4.1)
MCA red suspension (well simulated Spring Rates anyway)
AP racing calipers
And some bits to allow matching alignment

If you'd like to try my car in game you can download it here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/58uhu89xkjyzmz6/luke_86.rar?dl=0

It's a standalone car that works alongside the factory 86 and doesn't replace or edit it.

I got 4 days out of a set of track pads. Rears last twice as long. Big brakes should last 5x longer so hoping to get some value there. The std brakes with the right fluid and pads are up to the task of more power but they are working very hard, eat consumables and don't give as nice a feel.

Check out our club: https://www.facebook.com/groups/86driversclub/

We are incorporated and CAMS affiliated. There are few guys in Newcastle that will have more of an idea of where you can track it around there.
Yes it's on Facebook but it's an open group so it keeps out all the riff raff. No one uses any of the aus 86 forums anymore sadly.

I would be changing brake fluid every couple of track days, it's cheap and easy otherwise pay for an expensive fluid and you may get a year or so. I've just started running bigger brakes so may do it less now but we'll see how it holds up. I've done 2 sprints on the new brakes.

A sprint session with usually 6+ times runs of 4 hot laps with our 86 club is $145. A set of track tyres might last at least 8 to 20 events. $800 for them. Pads and fluid at a minimum maybe $3-500.  It really depends how much you want to get into it. Helmet $100-$500 and some gloves.
Harnesses there is debate over any increased safety over a 3pt and airbags and isn't necessary. CAMS license and or a Queensland Raceways license might add $65 to $100 annually.

I guess the biggest thing is a lot of essential mods aren't necessary and get out and have fun with it. A 100% standard car on track is more fun than weapon on the street.

I gave my 2c. It's awaiting approval. Otherwise ask away.
