Market research... :)
Think about it, and answer as honestly as you can.

Problem: single choice. There's no single thing I'm after the most.

Beating Mael. Not hard he usually crashes.

OK, you can now choose up to 2 options. I wanted people to really think about what's most important to them, not just all the things they like.

In seriousness I voted 'I don't really care about results or points so long as I get some close racing' which is in part true.
I don't care too much about the points, but over the years I've gotten faster and better at racing so seeing myself higher up the leader board and racing more closely with people I used to consider the 'fast guys' does give me a good sense of achievement. I've never got mad at being taken out, or rage quite a race with XGN even when being laps down. I just enjoy the racing as a whole and accept that shit happens.

+1 ;D ;D

I normally mostly just enjoy any close racing, but if I'm circulating in 10th, say, and I have an accident of some sort that puts me back in 20th, then I start grumbling to myself, before knuckling down and trying to just get as far back into the points as I can.
-
Difficult to say... enjoying the night is definitely the main purpose. But I also think I am driven ( ;)) by the desire of proving to myself that I can compete cleanly and drive well enough. So if the race feels realistic, if there is a nice tense and close competition (not necessarily close racing, as it depends on the type of cars), and if I manage stay with the best ones or thereabout, then I am satisfied.
Otherwise I am less happy. But that is not about losing or crashing as of course it is part of racing. I know sometime I get a bit grumpy with some of you, but being frustrated by a silly crash when you prepared well for a race is also part of the simulation, I guess.
So yeah, it is not "winning", but proving I am learning and doing better. But that's before the lights and after the flag. In between, once I am there, in the middle of the race, and I am battling for a position.... oh, yeah, I want to get the front of my car ahead of yours. No doubt. That's the only thought ;)

I’m in it for the competition and to get as far up the points ladder as possible.
Clean racing is important though, it’s awesome to be chalanged by people who drive clean and fair and nothing worse then loosing places because of a hit

I understand, just sayin' :) Btw I think you can get very good results from a multi-select questionnaire, too. The single most important thing is still going to be at the top (if there's one).

Big thing for me apart from doing as best I can in the season's standings, is to not end up just hotlapping
on your own :( can happen quite regularly if you're not on the pace, which sort of negates the idea of online racing.
Cheers Dave O.

While the lights are on, it's option 1.
About 2-3 laps in, it's option 2.
After a spin, it's option 3.
And if I have a few spins, it's option 5 (where 'driver X' is the guy in front if I'm faster than him, or the guy behind if he's faster than me).
On any day other than Tuesday, it's option 4.
You work it out, Wally. ;)

Clear as mud.

Hey! It is not my fault Wally pick the wrong cars!
-
Pick the "do well in season"and "Close racing" option.
I usually pick a driver who is just quicker than me and work throughout the season to finish ahead of my nominated competitor on the result ladder. So the championship points ladder is important part of the fun for me :D

That's true actually - I do the same. I tend to look at who is one spot above me on the ladder and then think right, that's who I've got to beat.

Just after close and fair racing.
my main use for the sim is to keep or rebuild my concentration and racecraft for when I get back in my kart. The result makes little difference to me

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It helps structure seasons in terms of points, success handicaps etc.
