wow that was fun! Like a lot of people I could barely put together two laps in a row without crashing, however i did learn that the old beetle could take quite a beating and not lose a lot of speed. In the race i ran around at 90% pace and it was a rather lonesome drive as I couldn't catch anyone in front and those behind never got near me. I did have some close laps with Able early on until he ran wide in the town. Overall it was a really quiet night, but a thoroughly enjoyable track. If only i knew how to set up a car.....

Wow, that was fun!
It’s been almost two years since I’ve been able to race Tuesday nights and what a great league this is. These older cars are fantastic and a lot of fun. In race one I had a great time trying to catch Simone, but unfortunately our pace was so similar I couldn’t get close until the last last but then I needed about couple to really have a chance....

Race two started so well however I got caught up in the big lap one wreck. I’m not sure what happened but it looked like someone ran wide and then cannon balled back into the front of the field and at it was impossible to avoid the spinning cars which the included myself. Being new to theses cars I wasn’t sure what it meant when the front, rear and both sides were red, but it didn’t appear to slow me too much so I pressed on and ran most of the race by myself.

For me personally it was a great return and hopefully with a bit more expirence in these cars I hope to find a bit more speed or at worst,  work out a set up which makes the tyre life a little better over these races.

dumb Q from a not so newbie, but do we need to d/l these skins from somewhere for the game to work or is there a zip file somewhere with everything on it?

Also where do you find the templates...?

cheers,
Bradc.
Skin templates are in - assettocorsa/sdk/dev/skin_templates.

thanks, which model Porsche is it as I grabbed the 911 RSR however it looks totally different to the ones others have used... ???

I know I can't make round 2, so if that's ok I'd love to join for the other races.

This looks great, I would love to jump in as a precursor to moving back into racing on Tuesday nights

Is there an old school Kyalami available for AC? These cars might go well there as there is not a lot of technical corners and it’s wide enough for drafting and multiple racing lines

Congratulations Bacchulum - well done!

here, here! Congratulations on a well deserved win  8)

I had some fantastic racing in this series and tonight was no different.  I love these old fast F1 circuits and I had some awesome battles through the night. My biggest problem with the Ferrari was turn 1. I simply couldn't carry enough speed through it to keep the Lancia's at bay on the corner exit. Even changing the ratio of 4th to help give it a kick on the exit didn't help me and it was only in the tow of other cars that I could accelerate fast enough to stop a turn 2 overtake. Surprisingly tyre wear wasn't an issue and I guess not having a turbo help the fuel economy as the car was great to drive at 9 10th's but trying to use that last 10th usually ended up in wall! What I did learn, was that IF I got a good start I could hold off the faster cars for the bulk of the lap by ensuring I held my lines and made them go around the outside, provided I got a good run through turn 1.

In the feature race I had a great duel with Phil for about 10 mintues until he got a run out of turn 1 and once he was in front his superior lap speed made me a very small spec in his rear view mirror....

I’d like to lock in a Ferrari 512

I’ve been waiting all season for this track, if only they’d open up the closed sections for modern F1 instead of that obination they’ve turned it into these days called the A1 ring

Should be the /78 as the /77 weighs less than a tonne and will have too great an advantage over the others.

ah....that would explain why it so was much nicer to drive. Might be something to watch for on Thursday as I automatically thought it was an option as it was selectable when joining the practice server.

QUESTION ???
I noticed on the practice server there is a Porsche 935/77 but I didn't see it on the list of eligible cars from a post earlier in this thread. Is this a car we can use ? If so, I'd like one.

Exactly G0D, I had a choice of Porsche, Porsche or Porsche. :-\
I've already driven all the others. :(

I feel your pain as I am in a similar boat and I really don't want to race a glorified volkswagon...

Phil, please only load the following cars for this round.
To honour the USA only overweight cars are eligible this round.

Facetti 308 Carma FF
BMW M1
Porsche 930/76 K2
Porsche 930/80 K3
Porsche 935/78
Ferrari 512BB LM

Where's the blue oval? Surely there'd have to be a Ford option, seeing we're stateside?
