Throttle to the floor and drop the clutch/bang into first when the lights go out.

I normally hold it about redline and then squeeze the power on to avoid wheelspin. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes I bog down.

Yep, it's something different and a good idea.

Why not have a consistent points scoring in all divisions, then total points for each league? If you only total times, where a lower total is better, then a team benefits from having fewer members. If you go by points, that's more of an incentive to have more participants.

Who runs on 1 server? I.e. how many teams on one server? If we have 5 teams represented, then say 4 players from each on any one server, for a total of 20 racers per server?

Starting to add favourites functionality (the stars), with the goal that you can restrict the list  to just your favourite servers.

We'll let the dust settle a bit on 1.2 and have some time to get accustomed to the new cars. It'll only be a shortish season. Don't want to rush anything like happened with shoehorning the new DTM cars into a season, like before.

First race using h-shifter AND heel-and-toe. Good fun but so many crunched gear changes! Who said it was But GT4 not as interesting to drive and handicapping didn't work. All the faster guys were still faster and the GT4 guys lost the opportunity to dice in the 2 Eleven. I still don't get who handicapping benefits - it doesn't seem to make the racing in the last half of the field any better. If anything it is better racing when everyone is in the same car and we are racing against drivers of similar pace.

I think handicapping of any sort, be it ballast or car selection, benefits everyone by closing up the field and making the racing more interesting. Look at how often Guybrush just sails off into the distance. He never races anyone, and often has to spice up his races by deliberately starting from the back of the grid. I'm sure the same is true at the tail of the grid too, for guys who get left behind only to be lapped.

We've seen it in netKar with ballast... the racing was always close, and when we tried a race without ballast for the hell of it, it was found by all to be deflating. The leaders just took off, and it was much more like hotlapping again.

The handicapping last night was a bit half-assed, because there weren't enough GT4s, with some people dropping out, and insufficient practice after the earlier prac and race in the base car. There wasn't enough time to come to grips with the faster car. Also, the GT4 isn't fast enough to totally close up the tail of the field, just to bring it a bit closer. We had a 4 to 5 second gap in lap times in the 2 Elevens, and the GT4 is only going to make up a couple of seconds on lap time.

Version 0.3: https://www.mediafire.com/?52obndrv9r251c6

Server details refresh now updates session and time left as well as players.

2 x 12 laps

Qualifying at 8:30pm Eastern.

Choose either the GTC or the GX in race 1, then drive the other car in race 2. When you join up for race 1, try to choose a car that evens out the numbers on the server so far.

Race Results and Charts

Congratulations to Guybrush on the two race wins.

Some guys got faster in the GT4; some got slower - but I put that down to needing more practice in the GT4. On paper, and on the RSR rank, it's a faster car. My own PB at Vallelunga is better in the GT4.

I found the 2 Eleven good fun to drive. It responds well to throttle input, and moves around a bit. Race 1 was good fun with a protraced battle with Marty and Stan, but race 2 was spoiled by getting hooked up on a kerb early on and spinning off into a wall. I still had a good race chasing down Chap and Rob after that.

New version:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/bovoct4rof1pdsd/ACServerBrowser%282%29.apk

This now has the refresh working on the server detail page, to refresh just that one server. At this stage, it only updates the players on the server, not the session or time left. That's still to come.

Pedal problems?
No, social commitments. Just between you and me, I'd rather be racing  8)

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this round.

Yeah, I reckon most of the modern pedals seem to be better than the A1s were.
At the time, the metal construction was miles ahead of the flimsy plastic Logitech stuff that was available.
