Assetto Corsa / Re: AC Multiplayer« on: July 09, 2015, 07:42:25 AM »
I'm not generally one to go looking for pickup races. I never have been, in any sim. Just one oir two league nights and a bit of practice in between is enough for me. But maybe that's exactly because of Gratulin's point. The lobby is usually an empty wasteland.
Although I don't like iRacing's pricing model, hats off to them for trying to organise and structure the online experience. There's always people who will check out a game out of curiosity while it's new, like people are doing with Dirt Rally for example, before they drift off to the ”next big thing”. The numbers that stick behind and play a sim regularly are always going to be smaller. I'm certainly in that crowd. I played netKar for years with about 12 or so guys racing the same 8 or so cars over and over, because it felt so good. I prefer to just find a good feeling sim and stick with it. 8057

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Season 8 Car Poll« on: July 08, 2015, 08:43:04 PM »
Four options (or classes) to choose from. You can choose up to two of your preferred options.
1. Pagani Zonda R Fast, race-spec car, lots of setup options, soft, medium, hard tyres. Single make series. 2. Lotus Evora GTC and Lotus Evora GX Mid-range race cars, pretty much the same in performance. Drive each car for half the season. 3. Lotus 2 Eleven and Lotus 2 Eleven GT4 Handicap option: The top half of the starters get the slower Lotus 2 Eleven, the bottom half of the starters get the faster GT4. This is pretty much like ballast in a single make. There's roughly 2 seconds difference in lap time over a 1:40 lap. There's usually much more than a 2 second gap between fastest and slowest in our races. 4. Abarth EsseEsse Step 1 Slow road car with enough power to slide. Single make series. We can have some trial races in any of the options to see how they pan out, and people can change their votes. AC 1.2 may well surface this month too, so the timing on that might have a bearing on how many trial races we have before the season starts. 8059
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Season 8« on: July 08, 2015, 06:26:01 PM »I like the idea of low grip, low power and good setup options. Usually results in closer racing Toyota 86 should be just the ticket! At least for low grip and low power. 8060
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Season 7 Standings« on: July 08, 2015, 06:20:27 PM »That being the case I think the numbers might be wrong. My example - total of 266 - 0 = 266 where as I show 202 (numbers taken from the "Rounds & Dropped Round" table). Is the score based on your total points minus your worst round (not including zero results)??Yes, but your worst round might be a zero result. Fixed! My spread sheet still only extended to 6 rounds as per last season. 8061

I just put up 3x as an approx last night. I'll have to check, but I think it will be 2.8x, like it was at Spa. It will be close to that. 8066

You'd see all the cars jump though, if you warped.I'm pretty sure. In my replay it looked like you jumped backwards. It's pretty much impossible to see yourself warping. If you ever see every other car jump at the same time, that's you warping.Joe warped into Bafs, taking him out. 8067

This is a single race, with 2 pitstops needed (2.8x fuel and tyres), for triple points.

Race 1 - sorry Jeremy for locking up at the end of the straight and T-boning you. I was hoping I'd miss you, but couldn't. After that, I couldn't close the gap to Phil.
Race 2 - got a punt in the first few corners, but fought back until I got to the end of a Grubbett, Bafs, Joe and Rob train. That was fun for a while, until Joe warped into Bafs, taking him out. Then I was chasing Rob until finally I was close enough after the last corner to get the slipstream past both him and Joe. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that Rob was closing on the inside way to fast, so I went wide into T1, held back just a fraction of a second, and let the Rob bullet fly past into the sand. From there I chased Grubbet until he pitted. After my pitstop on lap 10, it was a lonely race, with no one else in sight, and big gaps to packs of cars in front and behind. |
