Post by: Wally on January 14, 2020, 11:03:09 PM
Congratulations to Seanus for putting the Supercup to good use and taking out the round win. Matthew finished 2nd and 4th, and the points haul sees him take the championship lead from Joe. The return of Jeremy sees Struggle Street Racing Crew taking the lead in the team points.

I may miss this one as I have to go to Canberra for work and not sure if I'll be back in time. May just make it.

Tell work you have a championship lead to defend and you can't go.

Not sure it will work. You wouldn't believe the fight I already had about going down there for a 1 hour meeting..

What time does qually actually start? My flight should land around 5pm and it's about a 2 hour trip home so I may make, or at least join race 2 from the back of the pack.

Tough night for me, couldn’t get ANY heat into the tyres and so I found the Porsche extremely skittish and on the verge of crashing at almost every turn, so for race two I stifferened up the beast and lowered it a little and whilst it stopped trying to spin at every corner it made the car simply slow. Ended up being 1 litre short for fuel so waited for the leaders at the start line and came home dead last....

Yeah messed that round up forgetting to set pit stop compound. By the time I figured out what happened and was given another 40 sec penalty I would have come last anyway so had an early night.

It was a bad round for me too, which was a pity because I had really good pace, cracking a 14.1. In race 1, I skidded on the inside kerb of that long looping right hander on cold tyres and fishtailed across the grass, throwing away my 3rd place. It took a long time and quite a bit of work to claw my way back to finish 7th.

Then in race 2, I pitted relatively early to get out of a bunch of traffic. The tactic worked, but I stuffed my pit stop up a bit, missing my box and having to back up. Then later I caught up to Phil and was right on his clacker when I saw an opportunity to squeeze past on the inside of that very fast right hand kink, but again I skidded on the inside kerb, smacked the nose of the car into the concrete and spun about a dozen times in 2 seconds. Phil did really well to avoid me. The front was buggered - I was losing a bunch of speed and had trouble cornering, so with 15 mins to go I thought I might as well pit a second time for repairs. From there it was a lonely race at the back, only passing Brad's stranded car.

Yeah was my turn for that. I set the pressures but not the compound  :'(
