Remember this is a single long race.

Track:  Watkins Glen NASCAR download

We have a past member who is looking to get back, but needs some encouragement/assistance...
Can you post your setups, I doubt he wants mine!

cheers, Bruce

I still use the one I've created early on, if the track is slippery I just soften the rear a bit.
Wally has done that too, bit more rear camber and softer rear (not sure if rollbar or springs?)

Thanks Bird, that will remove a hurdle for him... (the 'secret racer' :) )

Just did a few laps, thanks for the setup Bird, it felt great as it was, when i softened the rear it was more loose in the rear end, i ended up moving the brake balance to 68 Front and added a little toe to the rear wheels.

I must have stuffed up when i said i did a 21.1.... I just did a 22.6 and it listed it as the fastest lap in the 427 around Watkins...

Thanks for the help :)
Cheers

It maybe a placebo effect that rear end...but that's why I don't really like playing with the springs.  It can have weird effects if you don't follow it with other parts of the suspension, since it lowers the rear, and changes the frequency of the suspension.

Rollbar is better for these sort of things, generally.

But if it's good as it is, that's the best! :)

Is it just my imagination or are all the default setups much better under RC1? Seems like suspension changes are now for personal preference and perhaps to tune for a specific track rather than outright pace as before?

Hi Wally,

Long time no see indeed, you probably wont see me still, i'll be down the back of the pack :)

Thanks Bruce, i still have a lot to do to sort the game out using the Hyper, but at least it is now sort of drivable....

I'll go cut some laps and see if i can get into the groove...
Cheers

Steve you were probably on a 21 the RSR timing is a little flaky, I had the world record there lat night @ 00:01:21!
Unleaded your using the times that AC gives you when you exit a session, they are accurate.

I must apologise to Rooshooter, the Mrs was watching some Gerard Butler movie tonight, so i saw the opportunity to cut some laps :)

I jumped in the practice server and saw Rooshooter was cutting some laps, i thought it would be a good opportunity to figure out how the multiplayer screens worked, i clicked on his name and could see him running around the track, but from a side view, i saw a button at the end of his name, thinking it was a camera button, i clicked it.... NOPE, it was a "Kick from Server" Button  :o Sorry Roo, i didn't know how to cancel it... I promise i wont do it again....

I have been playing with setups, it is very weird, i get a setup that drives nice, feels responsive and i loose a second!! Run default which drives poorly and am much faster!! How is the tyre model in AC, do i need to get a few laps to build temp or after the out lap are you pretty good to go??
Cheers
